Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman Share the Screen in Official 'Deadpool & Wolverine' Trailer

The long-awaited team-up rips into theaters July 26.

More than two months after the first trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine confirmed the long-awaited team-up of fans' dreams, the world is getting another look at the upcoming action-packed, R-rated superhero epic.

Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool (aka Wade Wilson) finally shares the screen with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine (aka Logan, aka James Howlett), for a raunchy, self-referential thrill ride of a trailer.

In the official trailer, released on Monday, fans see Deadpool and Wolverine trade cheeky barbs before Wade recruits the down-on-his-luck Logan and encourages him to get back into fighting shape, culminating in an action montage set to Madonna's "Like a Prayer."

On Sunday, one day before the trailer dropped, Reynolds took to Instagram to get fans hyped with a mini-teaser, that featured Deadpool speaking to Wolverine in voice-over, set to swelling, inspiring music, and largely featuring footage from past Wolverine films.

"Look, eventually, you're going to hang up the claws and it's going to make a lot of people very sad," Deadpool said in the teaser, slyly referring to Jackman's previously announced decision to retire from playing the character after Logan. "But one day, your old pal, Wade's, gonna ask you to get back in the saddle again, and when he does, say yes."

The teaser largely featured footage from 2009's much-maligned X-Men Origins: Wolverine, as well as 2015's The Wolverine and the Oscar-nominated 2017 film Logan -- which seemingly showcased the range in critical reception Jackman's outings as the claw-popping fast-healing mutant have been.

Reynolds also shared some new poster art for the film, which thematically mirrored the quirky rom-com feel of the first friendship necklace poster released in February.

The new poster just shows Wolverine's hand with adamantium claws popped, and Deadpool's hand, gently stroking one of the blades.

"Hugh got his nails done for this," Reynolds captioned the post.

In the comments, Jackman jokingly replied, "Not done, sharpened."

Back in February, during Super Bowl LVIII, Marvel released the first look at the highly anticipated third installment in the Deadpool franchise -- which is the first since the character was acquired from Fox by Disney.

The two-and-a-half-minute trailer shows Deadpool/Wade Wilson and his signature meta-humor, calling out the jump from Fox to Disney in a fourth-wall-breaking moment as he is abducted by the Time Variance Authority (TVA) -- a Marvel organization first introduced in the Disney+ Loki series.

The first trailer did not show Jackman's face in his return as Wolverine. Instead, it teased his appearance in various shadowed glimpses, leading to countless fan theories and YouTube videos analyzing the trailer frame-by-frame.

The film is directed by Shawn Levy and also stars Deadpool newcomer Emma Corrin, as well as returning stars Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams and Karan Soni.

Deadpool & Wolverine hits theaters July 26.
