Emma Stone, Joe Alwyn, Jesse Plemons and more stars explore three different narratives in the absurdist anthology film, out June 28.
Yorgos Lanthimos has assembled a star-studded cast for what may be his most mind-bending feature film so far.
The trailer for the director's upcoming absurdist anthology, Kinds of Kindness, dropped on Wednesday, giving fans a look at the A-list ensemble, which includes Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, Mamoudou Athie, Hunter Schafer and more.
The film, co-written by Lanthimos with Efthimis Filippou has been described as a "triptych fable." It's made up of three different storylines in which each actor plays a different character -- though the three all share some narrative connection. The three segments are titled "The Death of R.M.F," "R.M.F. is Flying" and "R.M.F. Eats a Sandwich."

Kinds of Kindness is a reunion for Lanthimos with many stars from his past films. Stone and Alwyn starred together in The Favourite, while Stone just won her second Best Actress Oscar for Poor Things, which also featured Dafoe and Qualley.
In production notes for the film, Stone raved about reuniting with Alwyn on the project. The quote drew note from Swifties in particular, however, Stone's praise came during filming, before the actor's high-profile split from ex Taylor Swift. (Stone and Swift have been pals for more than two decades and have publicly supported each other throughout the years.)
"I love Joe," Stone said. "We had to do some pretty dark stuff on this one, so it was extremely comforting to be with him because he's one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet."
Kinds of Kindness is in theaters June 28.
