It's been quite a ride for Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson since welcoming their daughter, True.
True turns one on Friday, and it's safe to say plenty has happened between her parents since her birth on April 12, 2018. True's birth was already surrounded by intense drama, when Khloe gave birth just two days after reports broke that 28-year-old Tristan cheated on 34-year-old Khloe with multiple women while she was pregnant.
A source told ET at the time that Khloe was "completely devastated" by the reports, and was relying on her mother, Kris Jenner, and her sisters -- Kim and Kourtney Kardashian, as well as Kendall and Kylie Jenner -- for support.
"Tristan is a man Khloe built a life with and saw as her forever," the source said.
But despite any personal drama between Khloe and Tristan, the NBA star was present for True's birth at Hillcrest Hospital outside of Cleveland, Ohio, and even held Khloe's hand while she gave birth as seen in an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians that aired last November.
"Regardless of what Tristan did to me, I was never going to take that moment away from True or Tristan,” Khloe tweeted when the episode aired, defending her decision to fans. "She should not be punished for his actions. He is her father and they both deserve to love one another as deeply as they possibly can."
“A birth is not something you can 'redo,'" she added. "Once you make that choice you can never get it back #KUWTK think big people.”
After Khloe gave birth, she remained in Cleveland with Tristan instead of returning to Los Angeles with her family.
"She’s built a nice, quiet life for herself in Cleveland, which is exactly what she wants right now," a source told ET at the time. "She’s really enjoying this quality time with her daughter and Tristan -- without all the distractions that come with being in L.A. surrounded by so many other people. She’s doing really well and, of course, is very hands-on with True.”
Khloe ended up fully taking Tristan back after the cheating scandal. In May 2018, a month after the cheating scandal, Khloe supported Tristan at a Cleveland Cavaliers game and was also snapped having lunch with him and other friends.
In June, a source told ET that Khloe and Tristan were living together as a family in Los Angeles for the summer while working on their relationship.
“Everyone is back on board -- friends, family and Khloe have all forgiven him and are giving him this second chance -- and so far it’s been working for them," the source said. “[Khloe's] family was obviously very concerned when the scandal broke and they wanted her to come home, [but] she decided to stay and is so happy she did. She loved her time in Cleveland and believes it was essential to their relationship to be together as a family unit during that time. Those are important months as a parent and she is grateful they experienced that as a team."
Later that month, Khloe clapped back at a fan on Twitter for criticizing her for taking Tristan back.
"You have no knowledge of what goes on in our household or the enormous rebuilding this takes to even coexist,” Khloe replied. “I’m proud of my strength. I appreciate your opinion and I hope you hold that same opinion to everyone else who has stayed in situations."
Even the beef between Tristan and Khloe's siblings -- most notably, Kim -- appeared to get better by last June, when Kim hilariously got Tristan to unblock her from Instagram at Khloe's 34th birthday party.
"For Khloe's birthday, I think it's only right," Tristan joked as Kim called him out.
Still, Kim still clearly had her reservations about Tristan. When KUWTK addressed Tristan's cheating scandal for the first time last November, the mother of three gave Khloe some pointed advice about her NBA star boyfriend.
"I told her, 'What are you going to get out of him?'" Kim said about what she expressed to her sister. "I go, 'Think about it, you're gonna be worried and nervous and have an insecure life. Because if he's not faithful now, he'll never change.'"
Khloe was also defensive about taking Tristan back after sharing happy snapshots of family vacations with him and True on social media. Last September, Khloe replied to a fan who commented on her Instagram, “So she’s acting like Tristan didn’t cheat? Like it was made up by blogs?”
"I'm not acting as if Tristan didn't cheat," Khloe defended herself, also shooting down rumors that she was planning to marry him. "I'm saying the story about marriage and anyone insinuating they know what we speak about privately is 'crap.'"
But nobody could have been prepared for the bombshell that took place in February, when Khloe and Tristan split amid rumors that he cheated with Kylie's best friend, 21-year-old Jordyn Woods. Woods later appeared on Jada Pinkett Smith's Facebook Watch series, Red Table Talk, and admitted she and Tristan kissed at a party, but insisted that nothing further happened. Shortly after the episode aired, Khloe blamed Jordyn for breaking up her family on Twitter, but later backtracked.
"I'm a rollercoaster of emotions & have said things I shouldn’t have," she tweeted. "Honestly, Tristan cheating on me & humiliating me, wasn’t such a shock as the first time. What’s been harder & more painful is being hurt by someone so close to me. Someone whom I love & treat like a little sister. But Jordyn is not to be blamed for the breakup of my family. This was Tristan’s fault. I have to move on with my life & count my blessings, my family, my health, & my beautiful baby True."
Since then, Khloe has been putting True first, spending time with her adorable baby girl. Last month, a source told ET that despite Khloe's personal feelings towards Tristan, the two were in agreement when it comes to True.
“Khloe has True for the majority of the time," the source said. "Khloe and Tristan may have their issues but Khloe will never deny Tristan a chance to spend time with his daughter. Things may change in the future, but for now, Khloe and Tristan are on the same page with True being with Khloe for most of the time.”
"Khloe is getting better with every day that passes," a source also told ET later that month. "Khloe and Tristan are still communicating and always will. Khloe is very big about 'I’m having the father of her child staying in her life no matter how bad things get.'"
The source also noted that the pair "aren't getting back together and Khloe knows she needs to move on."
"It’s been hard for her to realize that, but she knows it’s for the best," the source said. "Khloe is strong, but she’s really leaning on her family and friends during this time. She’s been spending a lot of time with her sisters and they’ve done a great job keeping her mind off things."
Last week, a source echoed to ET that Khoe and Tristan's relationship was completely over.
“Khloe is really enjoying the single life, and spending time with her favorite person in the world: True!" the source said. "She still feels betrayed by Tristan but she isn't allowing that to affect her happiness any longer. Khloe loves with all of her heart and gave Tristan another chance but that relationship is over for good. Khloe is taking time to be single, enjoy her friends and family and focus on her business."
Of course, that doesn't mean the reality star is staying single forever.
"Khloe is in no rush to start dating seriously, but she is someone who has a lot of love to give and would like someone to enjoy her time with in the future," the source noted.
Earlier this month, Khloe admitted during her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live that it may be time to stop dating basketball players after her failed relationships with Tristan, James Harden and her ex-husband, Lamar Odom.
“I like what I like. What can I say?” Khloe said. “ .. But I do agree. I should have listened to my MJ, my grandmother, and start dating, like, accountants or something like that.”
