Watch Alanis Morissette Perform Her Hit Song 'Ironic' With 8-Year-Old Daughter Onyx

Alanis Morissette marked her daughter Onyx's eighth birthday with a very special performance.

What it all comes down to is Alanis Morissette's daughter celebrated her eighth birthday in epic fashion.

During the iconic singer's concert in Nashville on Sunday, Morissette brought up her daughter, Onyx, to serenade her with "Happy Birthday" -- but that wasn't all. After the crowd sang along for the birthday girl, the mother and daughter launched into a duet of the longtime performer's beloved 1996 hit, "Ironic."

"Birthday angel girl moment 💫✨ singing ironic together 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🎂🥹🥹🥹🥹," the star captioned a photo of their performance on Instagram. "I love you so much onyx you are my dream daughter ❤️❤️🩷🩷 #8 #happybirthday#nashville #i❤️younashville ✨✨✨."

Morissette is a proud mom of three with husband Mario "Souleye" Treadway: sons Ever, 13, and Winter, 4, and daughter Onyx. She and the hip hop star tied the knot in 2010.

While Morissette has been both a musician and mom for more than a decade now, back in July 2020 -- less than a year after welcoming her third child and before dropping her ninth album, Such Pretty Forks in the Road -- she shared with ET how she was tackling the added chaos

"Before children, before marriage, I would be doing a vocal, and if there was anything in my peripheral vision, I'd freak out and say, 'I can't focus,'" she recalled. "Now I'm doing vocals and my daughter's on top of my head. I'm breastfeeding. There are doors opening and closing. 'Where's the puppy,' you know? I'm doing vocals and writing and trying to eat soup... so, multitasking has been taken to a whole new level."

"Thankfully, I can still write and I can still do vocals," she added. "It's just 50 more interruptions a day. And that's just part of this lifestyle now."

Plus, there's the added bonus of raising three pint-sized fans. During an appearance on Audacy’s Gary Bryan Morning Show in 2022, Morissette confirmed her youngsters listen to her famous music. "They do even when I'm like, 'Oh, shut that off,'" she said. "They’re so sweet."
