The young actor made a big change after his character suffered an unfortunate fate on the series.
Warning: Spoiler alert! Do not proceed if you haven't watched last week's Walking Dead season eight midseason finale!
With the gruesome fate of his character confirmed, The Walking Dead's Chandler Riggs decided it was time for a new 'do.
The 18-year-old actor -- whose TWD character, Carl Grimes, revealed in last week's midseason finale that he had been bitten by a zombie and was about to die -- chopped off his shaggy mullet on Saturday, a style he had been wearing for the past few seasons.
"New hair who dis" he wrote in a tweet accompanying the photo of his fresh cut.
He later tweeted that the short style was taking a little getting used to. "I feel so exposed," he wrote. "Like a naked mole rat or something."
The midseason finale crushed many a fan, and though it didn't feature his character dying in that moment, the actor confirmed there won't be a last minute miracle.
"Yes, Carl is going to die," Riggs told The Hollywood Reporter after the episode aired. "There's no way he can get back from that. His story is definitely coming to an end."
The Walking Dead returns Feb. 25 on AMC. For more on the series' latest, and pretty much most crushing season yet, watch the video below.
