Memorial Day is the unofficial start to summer and what better way to spend the summer nights than at a concert! Thankfully, California is home to some of the biggest and best live concert venues in the country. These landmarks are not only as iconic as the artists who have played them but a few of them have recently gotten a big facelift in time for concert season, and ETonline is giving you an exclusive, inside look at the renovations.
It doesn't get more iconic then the Hollywood Bowl. The Bowl is an 18,000-seat amphitheater that was first built in the 1920s. The venue, which is set against the backdrop of the Hollywood Hills, has provided a showcase of the world's greatest musicians over the years from Judy Garland, Billie Holiday and Louis Armstrong to Elton John, Alicia Keys and Carrie Underwood.

In Inglewood, California lies another landmark venue: The Forum. Once the home of the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Kings, the historic venue has been completely renovated and revitalized into a world-class, indoor-performance venue.
The Forum reopened in January 2014 with Chase as presenting partner and included a historic performance by legendary California rockers the Eagles. This summer they will host the 2014 Video Music Awards, the first major award show to take place in the venue. And be sure to look out for major tours coming through this fall, including the return of Justin Timberlake and Fleetwood Mac.
The Avalon Hollywood is another major venue to unveil its recent renovations.
