The 50-year-old actor is committed to his character.
Vin Diesel is Groot.
The 50-year-old actor channeled his character at the premiere of Avengers: Infinity War on Monday night, sporting a jacket adorned with tiny branches emerging from his chest and shoulders. Diesel was all smiles in the unique look, which he attributed to "the Groot coming out of me."
"Groot is coming out of me, guys," he told ET's Kevin Frazier on the red carpet. "Literally, like, it just happened on Earth Day yesterday. I was getting ready for the premiere and then all of a sudden branches started growing my shoulders."
"Hey, man, it's not me, it's the character," joked Diesel, who arrived at 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy premiere in an "I am Groot' T-shirt and stilts. "It's the character!"
All jokes aside, Diesel couldn't be more proud to have the Guardians of the Galaxy finally join forces with the Avengers.
"I'm a humble kid from New York and I'm grateful to be here," he said. "I've been really blessed to be a part of some great families, and this Marvel family is no different."
"I get a real kick out of being here and I get a kick out of bringing the kids to this premiere. This is the one they can see," he added.
Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Pratt, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Chadwick Boseman, Gwyneth Paltrow and more stars hit the carpet for Monday's epic premiere. See more in the video below.
