These two seem to have met their match.
Bishop Heahmund seems to have met his match in Ivar the Boneless.
Fans have watched the pair's epic battles this season on Vikings, but could they end up working for the same cause? Only ET has an exclusive sneak peek at this week's episode of the History drama, in which Ivar (Alex Høgh Andersen) surprisingly offers Bishop Heahmund (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) a deal.
"There is going to be a war, a war that will make me the King of Kattegat, my father's kingdom, a war against the usurper, Ragnar's first wife, Lagertha, who killed my mother in order to be queen. And, of course, a war between brothers," Ivar explains to a captured Heahmund. "Bishop, you have a choice. Fight alongside me, or I will kill you."
"I'm not afraid to die for my faith," Heahmund insists.
"But you are not being asked to do that. I'm not asking you to renounce your faith or to fight against Christians," Ivar explains. "All I'm asking is for you to kill more of those you call Heathens."

ET caught up with Andersen ahead of Vikings' season five premiere, where he previewed the dynamic between Ivar and Heahmund.
"Johnny is phenomenal. He's so intense," he marveled of his co-star. "He's really great, and his character is phenomenally written by Michael [Hirst]. We needed someone to square off with Ivar, somebody who is kind of his equal. [Heahmund] is just as extreme, just on the other side of religion, and they have a lot of similarities. So [although they are enemies] there's a strange mutual respect between them, because they understand each other."
Vikings airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on History. See more from the show in the video below.
