Bey sent over a flower arrangement to thank Monét for attending her Renaissance tour and film.
Victoria Monét admits she never Googled how to preserve the flowers Beyoncé gifted her as a "thank you" for attending her Renaissance tour and film, but the Jaguar II singer says she found a fun way to use the vase those flowers came in.
Speaking exclusively on the red carpet Friday at Spotify's 2024 Best New Artist Party at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles, Monét told ET's Cassie DiLaura that she not only saved the vase, but it's "now become my fruit bowl!"
Monét's jaw dropped at the mere mention of the flowers Beyoncé gifted her back in November. The arrangement included a signed note from Bey that read, "Thank you for coming out and supporting the Renaissance film. I'm forever grateful."
"When the flowers came, I was like, 'Ohmy god. Stunning flowers,'" Monét said. "And then I read who they were from. I was like, 'Oh my god. This is now the most valuable item in my home!' I couldn't believe it. I'm such a huge fan, since as long as I can remember admiring music, Beyoncé was there. So, I was just blown away that she would think to send me anything. Like, crazy!"
Monét was so moved by the gesture she created a TikTok video to thank Bey. That cute video shows Monét's 2-year-old daughter, Hazel, admiring the flowers and reading Beyoncé's note.
Monét is one of the most-nominated artists at the 2024 GRAMMY Awards, earning a whopping seven nominations. And while one of those noms is for the prestigious Best New Artist award, don't let that make you think that Monét is new to the music business.
After discovering a passion for poetry as a child, the performer got her start in the music industry as a songwriter and would go on to major success in that arena, working with artists like Ariana Grande, Nas, Blackpink, Fifth Harmony, T.I., GOOD Music, Lupe Fiasco, Chrisette Michele, and Coco Jones.
Monét tells ET that it was only up until this week when the excitement of being a GRAMMY-nominated artist truly hit her, and she conjured up a Disney classic to describe the success and recognition finally coming her way.
"I feel like I've been doing it for a very long time, so to still be considered new I feel like -- you know Toy Story where some of the toys feels sort of old and the kids come and play with them and they're like, 'Oh my god, this is my chance.' That's how I feel," the artist said. "Like, I have been sitting here waiting for this moment and now it's happening and I'm invigorated and I feel alive again."
The 2024 GRAMMY Awards is on Sunday, Feb. 4, at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET and being broadcast and streamed live on CBS and Paramount+ from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Follow along at ETonline.com for full coverage from music's biggest night, including performances, GRAMMY winners and more.
