Vanessa Williams and businessman Jim Skrip got married in 2015, and split in 2021.
Vanessa Williams is a single woman!
In a new interview with People, the Ugly Betty actress revealed that she quietly split from her businessman, ex-husband, Jim Skrip, in 2021. In the interview, the 61-year-old former Miss America said their marriage ended "quietly and amicably."
Williams isn't letting the end of her marriage get her down, telling the magazine that she has a new sense of freedom -- and she's busy loving herself and no one else.
"I’m doing what I love, and I’m in love with life," she said. "There is not one person that I’m in love with, but I’m in love with everybody."
Another aspect of her divorce? Freedom.
"I love my freedom," she said. "I love being alive, having options in my life, and being surrounded by beautiful things, great people, and wonderful opportunities."
Williams, who is currently starring in The Devil Wears Prada in London, and Skrip got married on July 4, 2015, after meeting during a vacation. Prior to their marriage, Williams was married to Roman Hervey II, with whom she shares children Melanie, 37, Jillian, 35, and Devin, 31.
The "Save The Best For Last" singer was also married to NBA legend Rick Fox until 2004. The pair are parents of Sasha, 24.
In addition to starring in The Devil Wears Prada, Williams released her first song in 15 years, "Legs (Keep Dancing), which she told ET in May was "a long time coming."
"I mean, I've been trying to get out there for the past 15 years to get a record deal and make music again," Williams said of the viral tune. "I think it was just the time to just do it myself and to stop waiting for somebody to give me an opportunity, but to make the opportunity happen for myself."
