Tyla Reacts to A-Listers Dancing to Her Song 'Water,' Winning Her 1st GRAMMY (Exclusive)

The singer and songwriter won an award Sunday for Best African Music Performance.

Tyla is feeling beyond grateful to not only have an award-winning song under her belt, but one that appears to be popular with some of the hottest stars in Hollywood.

Talking with ET's Kevin Frazier at the 2024 GRAMMY Awards, the 22-year-old songstress from Johannesburg reacted to her GRAMMY win for Best African Music Performance, which she found out about just moments prior.

"I just won -- what the heck? Like, it's crazy," Tyla, who showed up to music's biggest night wearing a custom Versace dress, said. "It's amazing. I'm so proud of myself, so proud of South Africa -- it's a win for us all so I'm just super blessed."

The singer won the award for her song, "Water," which has not only been taking over the Billboard charts in recent weeks, but has become an earworm in the minds of everyone from ET's own Nischelle Turner to fellow GRAMMY winner Justin Timberlake.

In January, a video of Timberlake dancing and singing along to her song went viral on social media, which she says feels surreal.

"JT! Yes, I did see that, that's crazy," she said before throwing some other big-name fans into the conversation. "It's amazing, I can't believe it, I'm lost for words. Janet Jackson was vibing to it, Oprah likes it."

The music video for Tyla's now GRAMMY Award-winning song, "Water," has amassed more than 117 million views in three months.

While the success of the song is certainly shocking, the South African singer said she had a feeling that "Water" would be a hit.

"When I made it, I knew it was special. I knew. Like, I loved it, my family loved it, I had a dream about the song so I feel like I knew in my spirit that this was the one," she said.
