Pics or It Didn't Happen: Prince on 'New Girl'

For New Girl's special episode in the coveted post-Super Bowl spot, it makes sense that they'd go for some serious star power, but Prince? The same Prince that rocked the Super Bowl halftime show in 2007?

It sounds like a joke, but it's happening, and now there's photographic proof.

The photo above shows the rock legend with Zooey Deschanel and Jake Johnson, who play TV's latest adorable couple Nick and Jess on the FOX comedy. Prince will play himself in the upcoming episode, (and really, who else would you want him to be?) which centers around a mansion party hosted by the iconic performer.

Also, don't call it a cameo. According to E! News, New Girl executive producers say that Prince is a big fan of the comedy, and wanted to be "involved in the show in a real way," and to "help Nick and Jess with their relationship."

Does this make him the actor formerly known as the Artist, formerly known as Prince? That's unclear, but either way, we're excited.
