The success of ABC's Once Upon a Time may be the impetus for developing more stories based on classic novels and popular fairy tales.
Disney's original animated The Hunchback of Notre Dame was released in 1996, nearly two decades ago. While the original featured voice work by Demi Moore and Kevin Kline, no casting announcements have yet been made for Esmeralda.
