Watch: Sherri Shepherd's Wedding Party Dance Rehearsal
"The View" co-host Sherri Shepherd is marrying TV writer Lamar Sally in August, and it looks like she'll be breaking a sweat.
The comedienne recruited Shane Sparks and Donyelle Jones from "So You Think You Can Dance" to choreograph steps for a group dance at her wedding party, so "The View" sent a camera crew to capture the process.
"When I told everybody that I wanted to do a dance, everybody was in shock," said Sherri. "I really didn't think we were going to be able to do it, but you know what I love about our groomsmen and our bridesmaids? They said, 'You know what, Sherri? For you, we'll do it.'"
Shane didn't seem as impressed with the group of 40-plus adults, which included Yvette Nicole Brown ("Community") and Kym Whitley ("My Wife and Kids"), so he aired his grievances, saying, "In the beginning it was hard. I just realized that some people have bad hips, bad backs, prosthetic legs ... some don't know their head from their feet."
You can see how the dance came together when "The View" airs the rehearsal footage on July 28 and July 29.
Lamar proposed to Sherri on December 26, 2010 with lights, Sherri's Santa-clad dog, and a ring hidden in a bowlful of M&M's after asking Sherri's five-year-old son, Jeffrey, for permission to pop the question.
