Tom Brady's Netflix Roast: Here's What Was Off Limits

The NFL legend was the subject of a Netflix roast that garnered wide-ranging reaction.

ET has learned that Tom Brady had no idea what the jokes would be in advance of Netflix's The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady.

As with any roast, a participant does not know what is going to be said about them. And as with any roast, comedians and roasters target public parts of one's life. That was no surprise. That being said, there was one topic that was completely off limits, and that was Brady's children.

That lines up with what Nikki Glaser told Howard Stern on his SiriusXM show, The Howard Stern Show, where she divulged that all those who participated on the roast collectively decided to keep Brady's kids out of their set.

"We all collectively decided not to involve his kids too much in anything because they didn't ask for this," said Glaser in reference to Brady's three children -- Jack, 16, whom Brady shares with actress Bridget Moynahan, and Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 11, whom he shares with ex-wife Gisele Bündchen. "So, I couldn't say, 'Tom, hopefully we make out at the after-party -- you can pretend I'm your son."

While his kids were off limits for the roast, there was another topic that, live in the moment, also became off limits. No, not Brady's failed marriage with Bündchen, but rather New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft. It was Brady who stepped in and warned Jeff Ross, "Don't say that s**t again," after the Roastmaster General brought up Kraft's 2019 incident in which he was charged with soliciting prostitution in a Florida massage parlor. He was cleared of all charges.

As for Bündchen, a source told ET that "Gisele was upset and hurt by some of the jokes about her, her relationship with [boyfriend] Joaquim [Valente], and her marriage to Tom during his roast." The source added, "Her main concern is always her children and family and she wants to protect them. She found some of the jokes to be distasteful and disrespectful."

In any event, Bündchen and Brady were far from the only targets during the event. Kim Kardashian, showered with a chorus of boos during the live broadcast before Netflix edited out the viral moment, became an early target for host Kevin Hart, but it wasn't until Brady took the mic and went for the jugular.

"I know Kim was terrified to be here tonight," Brady's jab at Kardashian began. "Not because of this but because her kids are at home with their dad," said the NFL legend in reference to Kardashian's four children -- North, 10, Saint, 8, Chicago, 6, and Psalm, almost 5, whom she shares with ex-husband Kanye West.

The joke was so shocking, even Glaser told Jimmy Kimmel she was surprised Brady went there.

"One of the moments where I went, 'Oh, we can go there!' He did a joke about Kim Kardashian, who was there, who I thought was kind of off limits, right?" Nikki explained. "She's here. She takes enough of a beating. She's not on the stage, but then he had a joke about, 'Are you more scared about the jokes or the fact that your kids are with Kanye [West] right now?' A great joke. And I was like, 'I didn't even know we could really go there.'"
