What started as a simple text wishing Kid Cudi a happy birthday, turned into an epic dinner with the celebrity power couple.
You know you’re having a good night when you have to sneak off to the bathroom to text your friends about it!
Timothee Chalamet had a pinch-me moment that he can only describe as feeling “like an earthquake,” and which prompted him to text his pals in disbelief during a night out in January.
What started as a simple text message wishing his friend and idol, Kid Cudi, a happy birthday, turned into an epic dinner with the musician, Pete Davidson, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian West.
“Kid Cudi is my favorite artist ever -- I wouldn’t be acting without him. I wouldn’t have pursued this crazy career,” Chalamet explained during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “I just texted him the morning of his birthday and he said, ‘Come to dinner tonight.’ But I did not know what I was walking into… which was awesome, but surreal.”
Indeed, Chalamet, 23, was blown away when he turned up to the birthday celebration and saw celebrity power couple West and Kardashian West walk in.
“They were hanging out and then it feels like there’s an earthquake in the restaurant. It was epic,” he recalled. “You could feel the [energy.] You turn around and I was like, ‘Holy sh*t’ ‘cause I feel like I’m in this a little bit, but then I also feel like too much of a fraud or something, so I’m like, ‘This is nuts.”
“I went to the bathroom and seriously, I sent a text to two friends, like, ‘Am I worthy? Does this make sense?’” Chalamet also dished. “They were like, ‘Man, 16-year-old you would slap the sh*t out of you and go back to the table.’ So, I went to the table and then it was fine.”
Chalamet also couldn't help but gush about Davidson.
“Pete’s great, he’s a fellow New Yorker,” Chalamet said. “He just did a movie with my sister, actually. A Judd Apatow movie.”
