See who was voted off and who make it through in the latest episode of 'The Masked Singer'
The Masked Singer returned for the grand finale on Wednesday, and the two greatest performers of season 9 faced off in a one-on-one duel for the Golden Mask Trophy!
Helmed by host Nick Cannon and overseen by stalwart panelists Robin Thicke, Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy and Nicole Scherzinger, Wednesday's exciting finale saw the Medusa and The Macaw, duke it out for their coveted prize, with each showing off their skills with two separate performances.
So who crowned the season 9 champion? Here's how Wednesday's finale shook out when all the songs were sung and votes were cast!
The Masked Singer Week 13 -- Grand Finale!
The Macaw and Medusa were both on top form for the finale, and The Macaw kicked things off with an emotional performance of James Bay's "Hold Back the River." It was a touching and exciting number that showcased his vocal skill and left the judges moved.
"I have to say, Macaw, [for the] season 9 finals, this is the strongest performance I have seen you do all season," Jeong marveled. "And we are witnessing some sort of evolution of the Macaw, and it is beautiful. Thank you."
Medusa was up next, and she took things to another level with the emotional impact of her voice. She brought her vulnerable vocals and powerhouse rawness to her rendition of "Elastic Heart" by Sia, and you could hear the feelings in her voice as she delivered a masterful performance.
"Medusa, I just want to say that, you know, usually, after a few performances, people have kind of shown all their tricks, they've shown you everything they got and it's hard to keep on connecting," Thicke shared. "But the consistency that you've shown with your passion and your presence every single time, you've been one of my favorites of all nine seasons."
For Macaw's second number of the night, he tapped into the powerful and relatable lyrics of Eric Carmen's "All By Myself" to share a beautiful performance with the panel, and he was brought to tears by the effort -- as were the judges.
"You always pull at our heartstrings, you give us the feels. But tonight you hunkered down and you said, 'Naw, it ain't over with yet, baby! No! I'm coming for you!" Scherzinger exclaimed excitedly.
The fourth and final performance of the night came courtesy of Medusa, who closed out the season with a powerful and unforgettable anthem, delivering a pounding and mindblowing cover of My Chemical Romance's "Welcome to the Black Parade." The song was made even more powerful by some small changes that reflected the loss of the singer's sister, which she's touched on in clue packages throughout the season.
"I don't know about you guys, but to me that sounded like a winning anthem that she just sang," McCarthy declared.
"This is your opus. You have carried on. And honestly? I still don't know who you are," Jeong shared. "I wish I was somewhere remotely close. But whoever you are, you can finally take a deep breath and rest - because you have carried on."
Finally, it was time for the audience to vote on the season's big winner, and after all the votes were cast, it was revealed that Medusa would be crowned the champion!
However, before she unmasked to accept the Golden Mask trophy, it was time for The Macaw to "take it off." After the panel made their final guesses, The Macaw unmasked and revealed himself to be none other than David Archuleta!
The unmasking was a tearful one, as Jeong began to cry at the reveal, and explained that when his wife was in the hospital in 2007, due to complications with her pregnancy, they watched Archuleta on American Idol.
"You were like a ray of light for my family, and it's an honor to see you in this capacity," Jeong said through tears. "Thank God for you, and I love you."
Archuleta was brought to tears as well explaining how his decision to come out publicly has changed his life and inspired others.
"Being Macaw has felt liberating, coming out felt liberating. And it is scary. I grew up very religious. It was a huge part of my life. And I believed that if I lived that way, like, being queer, that I was gonna be evil. So I worked really hard to be anything but that," Archuleta continued. "It got to a point where I thought, 'Maybe it's better if I'm not here.' But, um, I realized I can't change this. So if anyone else has grown up, you know, feeling like they were bad just because of who they were attracted to and who they loved, I want you to know that it is worth taking the courage to show your true colors. It's scary, but you're worth it."
Finally, it was time for the season's champion to take the stage and ditch the snakes. After the judges all made their final guesses this time around, Medusa unmasked and revealed herself as "River" singer Bishop Briggs!
"Oh, my gosh, this is the craziest, coolest thing ever. Thank you so much. Wow, this is so cool," Briggs shared. "This has really been such a surreal journey, and the fact that I got to sing an Emo anthem, It means so much. Because when I was hearing David's story, I was like, oh, my gosh, look at us. A couple of Emo kids here on this stage, unsure of who we are, not knowing if we wanted to continue on, and we made it.... this has just been the most incredible experience."
The Masked Singer Week 12 -- Semi-finals
Tonight is the second-to-last night of season 9's star-studded competition, and the three greatest singers of the season took to the stage to give it their all and make it to the grand finale -- starting with The California Rolls. This collective of sushi-themed singers got the audience onto their feet with a fun rendition of Kelly Clarkson's "Breakaway" that showed off their impressive harmonies.
"That's the way to semifinal, right there!" Thicke declared, as McCarthy added, "I feel like you guys were the ones to beat and are still the ones to beat!"
After the fun and upbeat routine, it was time for Medusa to bring the feels with an absolutely jaw-dropping cover of Hozier's "Take Me to Church" that blew the doors off the theatre. She brought her raw emotion, tears, and energy, effortlessly owning the stage with her incredible take on the powerful single.
"I just got to tell you, not only did you take us to church, you bursted our hearts wide open," McCarthy praised. "Medusa, we freaking love you!"
The Macaw was the final act of the night, and he brought fun energy and impressive vocal talent to his performance of One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful." The number had everyone dancing along and even got Scherzinger emotional.
"I love that song choice for you because you are staying true to who you are and the reason why you're here, and I could tell you were singing with all of your heart and soul," Scherzinger marveled after the performance. "Because you meant it, because you knew someone out there tonight needed to hear that."
After all the individual songs were sung, it was time for the season's first 3-way head-to-head-to-head music battle, with all three contestants singing versions of Bruno Mars' "Runaway Baby." The California Rolls kicked things off with The Macaw following -- and both of them did a great job. Then Medusa took the stage, and instantly there was a clear winner.
Finally, it was time to vote, and after all the votes were counted, it was revealed that Medusa and The Macaw would be moving on to the finale, while The California Rolls would have to unmask. After the panel all made their final guesses, each of The California Rolls unmasked and revealed themselves to be the celebrated a cappella group, the Pentatonix!
To close out the semifinals, the group delivered an unmasked performance of Radiohead's "Creep," a song from earlier in the competition that gave everyone goosebumps and proved exactly why they deserved to have made it this far.
The Masked Singer Week 11 -- "British Invasion Night" Quarterfinals
Sticking with the theme, each of the song choices this week feature tracked originally recorded by British artists, and The Macaw kicked off the night with a song from one of the most iconic British singers of all time: Elton John. The brilliant and bold bird belted out "Your Song," which was met with a resounding wave of support from the panel and audience.
"That was outstanding. That was outstanding," Thicke marveled. "These are the champions going head to head tonight, and that vocal could win the championship of season nine."
The California Rolls hit the stage next -- all five of them, performing as one collective contestant in multiple costumes -- and delivered a stellar and spotlight-stealing performance of Radiohead's beloved masterpiece, "Creep."
"We haven't! My mind is blown! Just bring out the Golden Mask trophy right now, for crying out loud," McCarthy praised, as Scherzinger added, "That's right! Individually, your voices, each person, you're a force to be reckoned with. But together, collectively? You are limitless."
Next to teleport onto the stage was The UFO, who delivered an out-of-this-world performance of Amy Winehouse's "Tears Dry on Their Own," which was met with a lot of love from the panel.
"That's the thing I love about UFO. You come out here, you command the attention from the audience, you beam us up, and take us somewhere out of this world," McCarthy exclaimed. "You are so fun, UFO!"
Finally, Medusa closed out the show and left everyone in tears with a truly masterful performance of "Someone Like You" by Adele, which she made all her own. It was a perfect showcase for both her power, her range and her raw emotion and capped off the night's competition with a deeply moving, memorable moment.
"If she sang that in the finale, she would win," McCarthy said, as all four panelists stood on the desk to applaud the night's best performance. Scherzinger called her "the one to beat" and praised her vulnerability and fearlessness.
Despite four amazing deliveries, the audience was still tasked with having to eliminate one of the night's brilliant performers. After all the votes were cast and counted, The UFO was sent flying home. After all the judges made their final guesses, The UFO was unmasked and revealed to be Miss Universe Olivia Culpo!
Scherzinger, a friend of Culpo's marveled, "Honestly, babe, I know that you're the most gorgeous human ever. I mean, look at that face. But I didn't know you could sing!"
"I mean, I'm no Nicole Scherzinger, but I like to sing in the shower," she said with a laugh.
Culpo added, "Thank you so much for this opportunity. I really do feel like, although I had a mask on, this is more of my personality that I got to share for the first time. So much of what I feel like I have to do is not about that, or people don't want to see your personality, so this was really, really fun for me."
The Masked Singer Week 10 -- "Battle of the Saved"
Kicking things off on a powerful, emotional and skillful first note, Medusa came on stage belting out a moving and impressive rendition of Shawn Mendes' "Mercy" that really demonstrated just how talented she truly is, and how much raw passion she can infuse in her performances.
"That performance alone could win this competition," McCarthy marveled. "That was a winning performance tonight, and it would be so awesome that if somebody we saved actually took home the trophy for Masked Singer. "Someone just like you."
The Gargoyle took the stage next, posing as a stone DJ as he sang "DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love" by Usher, featuring Pitbull, and it was the perfect high-energy compliment to Medusa's performance.
"You made me so proud tonight, Gargoyle!" McCarthy praised. "And now I gotta rethink, 'cause I was thinking you were an athlete. But after that performance, you are a singer, my friend."
The Mantis was the last contestant to come out, and the insectoid singer brought some old-school rock to the stage with a fun, engaging performance of The Kinks' iconic classic "You Really Got Me." The vocals were smooth and exciting and Mantis got the audience pumped with a great cover.
"You lit this place up," Scherzinger exclaimed. "Like, literally, there were flames and everything. Honestly, this is the best you've ever sounded. That was a brilliant song choice!"
After all the votes were counted, The Mantis couldn't eek out another save, and it was time to find out who he really is. The Mantis unmasked and revealed himself to be none other than Lou Diamond Phillips!
When asked why he wanted to do the show, Phillips shared, "I gotta give a massive shout-out to my daughter, Indigo... [she] was the primary reason."
"But you guys have had just wonderful, surprising, ridiculous guests, you know? I mean, Grammy winners and nominees down to surprising people, like me, that you don't necessarily expect," he added. "So, it has been a joy. It has been a joy to be on this show."
After the first unmasking, The Gargoyle and Medusa had a musical clash of the titans in a Battle Royale showdown, each singing verses from Fall Out Boy's "Centuries." While each gave their own powerful and very unique take on the hit single, Medusa managed to pull off a win -- meaning she'll be headed into the competition.
The Gargoyle's journey, however, had to come to an end. After the judges all made their final guesses, The Gargoyle was unmasked and revealed to be NFL star and LA Charges wide receiver Keenan Allen!
When Cannon asked if singing had always been a secret passion for him, Allen explained, "Growing up, I always been in choir. Mama made me sing all the time. Definitely always had a passion for it."
"Loved singing around the homies. You know, and to the ladies, of course," he added with a laugh. "But I came to the stage, and I'm just telling y'all, it's way more [nerve-racking] than being on a football field."
The Masked Singer Week 9 -- "Masked Singer In Space Night"
The reigning champ, The Dandelion, was the first to hit the stage, and she wowed the panel and the audience from the start when she came out playing the piano (making her the first female contestant to play the piano during a performance in the show's history) and delivered a stunning cover of Muse's "Starlight" that left everyone in awe.
"Dandelion, you were an intergalactic rock star on that stage tonight!" Nicole exclaimed after her stunning appearance.
The Lamp was up next, and credit is due to the costume team for making a stunning ensemble that looks so much like a Tiffany lamp brought to life through magic. The striking ensemble complimented the fun and energetic performance of "Venus" by Bananarama.
"Right from the very first note, there was confidence, you had swagger, I thought you lit up the stage, Lamp!" Thicke praised.
The last act of the night was The UFO, who impressed the judges with her energy and her unique costume before she even opened her mouth and showed off her delicate and beautiful voice as she sang a charming and heartwarming rendition of Coldplay's iconic single "Yellow."
"Can I just tell you? You pulled my heartstrings," McCarthy shared. "The feeling, the emotion that you pulled out of all of our hearts, you are a natural star."
After all the songs were sung, it was time to vote. Once all the votes were cast, the talented and lovely Dandelion was the first to get voted off. After all the votes were cast (and, shockingly, only Jeong guessed correctly), The Dandelion unmasked and revealed herself to be celebrated actress and songstress Alicia Witt!
When asked how she prepared for her time on The Masked Singer, Witt joked, "Well, nothing could prepare me for trying to play the piano and sing and catch my breath with all of this on!"
"But I'm really glad I tried," she added with a smile. "The thing I loved the most is getting to connect to people with my music. And this has been one of the best experiences of my whole life."
With Dandelion floating off into the wind, this meant The Lamp and The UFO had to face off in the night's Battle Royal, with each belting out verses from the thematically on-point song choice of Elton John's "Rocketman." While both put in a valiant effort, The UFO's vocal texture and take on the tune edged out The Lamp, and secured The UFO the night's win.
This meant that The Lamp's time on the show was up, but this also meant fans got a chance to find out who she really was. After the judges made their final guesses, The Lamp unmasked and delighted everyone when she revealed herself to be TV sitcom icon, Melissa Joan Hart!
"This was something I wanted to do for my kids and for myself -- I wanted to overcome something. I have never sung in front of people before. It is terrifying to me," she revealed. "So this was like overcoming a fear, and I did it, guys! I didn't fall! I didn't vomit!
The Masked Singer Week 8 -- "WB Movie Night"
The Mantis, The Doll and The Dandelion faced off in a night inspired by Warner Bros. movies.
The Doll performed "Jailhouse Rock" by Elvis Presley, while The Dandelion belted out "Over the Rainbow" by Judy Garland. Finally, The Mantis crooned "Old Time Rock and Roll" by Bob Seger.
The Doll was the first to get voted off, and was revealed to be none other than rocker Dee Snider.
This meant The Dandelion and The Mantis faced off in a Battle Royale, where each sang "(I've Got A) Golden Ticket" by Jack Albertson & Peter Ostrum. The Dandelion was declared the night's champion, but The Mantis was saved from elimination and unmasking by the "Ding Dong, Leave It On" bell."
The Masked Singer Week 7 -- "'80s Night"
No one is going to forget The Doll, who hit the stage decked out as a spooky, retro, haunted voodoo doll to perform a fun and captivating rendition of "Don't You (Forget About Me)" by Simple Minds.
"Yeah, I love the song choice, and and I think there was such an elegance, [you're] a seasoned performer," Robin marveled. "This person knows how to work a crowd. You got the crowd in the palm of your hand, right away."
Scorpio hit the stage next, stinging the competition with a bright, energetic and delightful cover of "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper. The performance convinced the panel that Scorpio is likely a professional dancer of some kind, or at the very least she's used to performing in front of a crowd.
The Moose came out to round out the performances. Performing only while seated, The Moose still managed to deliver a mesmerizing delivery of "The Power of Love" by Huey Lewis & the News. While The Moose's voice was uniquely recognizable, it was impossible to tell who is actually was.
After all the votes were counted, The Moose, sadly, the first to get kicked off. After the panelists all made their final guesses, The Moose unmasked and revealed himself to be sitcom icon and Cheers star George Wendt!
After Jeong expressed his adoration for Wendt and his role on the beloved comedy series, the longtime TV star lovingly described his experience on the show as "profoundly ridiculous."
Wendt's unmasking left Scorpio and The Doll facing off in a Battle Royal, where each sang verses from Duran Duran's "Hungry Like the Wolf." Despite an evenly matched showdown, The Doll managed to eek out a win, and thus was crowned the champion.
This left Scorpio on the chopping block, and after the panelists made their final guesses, she unmasked and revealed her true identity -- Selling Sunset's Christine Quinn!
"I've always loved the show, and I was like, 'I wanna be on that show. That's so fun! I wanna do it!'" Quinn explained. "I call myself a closet singer. So the fact that I'm here on the stage singing in front of people just goes to show that anything is possible if you put your mind to it and practice."
The Masked Singer Week 6 -- "Country Night"
The Fairy kicked things off in cowboy boot style with a stunning and beautiful rendition of Bonnie Raitt's "Angel From Montgomery" which left the panel in awe of her talent and vocal styling. It was a performance befitting a reigning champ and set the bar high for the night.
The character with possibly the cutest costume of the entire season hit the stage next, The Axolotl, and the pink, frilled amphibian delivered a sweet cover of "Can't Fight the Moonlight" by LeAnn Rimes -- who also happens to be a Masked Singer Golden Mask winner, from back in Season 4.
Finally, The Macaw flew out for a powerful performance of "Live Like You Were Dying" by Tim McGraw that won over the audience and left the panel very impressed.
After all the votes were counted, the adorable Axolotl was, sadly, the first to get kicked off. After the panelists all made their final guesses, The Axolotl unmasked and revealed herself to be WWE star Alexa Bliss!
"This was something that was personal for me because I have actually crippling stage fright when it comes to singing," Bliss shared with the panel. "I actually cried backstage before coming out here 'cause I was just so nervous. But I am just so proud of myself, because I conquered my fear!"
This left The Fairy and The Macaw facing off in a Battle Royal, and both stars delivered skillful and, ironically, impressive versions of Shania Twain's "That Don't Impress Me Much." However, the panel was clearly more impressed by The Macaw, who was crowned the victor and brought The Fairy's run to an end.
After all the final guesses to The Fairy's identity were made -- and all were way off -- The Fairy revealed her true self, actress Holly Robinson Peete!
"How did you not know it was me?" Peete asked in disbelief. "I feel like I know everybody on that panel!"
The Masked Singer Week 5 -- "Sesame Street Night"
Returning champ The Squirrel kicked the fun, Sesame Street-themed episode off with a fun, skillful performance of "Just the Two of Us" by Grover Washington Jr. featuring Bill Withers. It was a soulful tune befitting the meaningful legacy of Elmo, Big Bird and all the beloved Sesame Street characters who made guest appearances throughout the night.
The Fairy was the next singer to hit the stage -- in a costume that Scherzinger said made it look like she's "going to Coachella" -- and she wowed with a fun, powerfully sung rendition of Linda Ronstadt's "You're No Good."
Last but not least, The Jackalope came out to try and make people believe in cryptids. The costumed contestant delivered a fiery, high-energy performance of Shakira's "Whenever, Wherever." It left Scherzinger stunned and delighted the audience.
After all the votes were counted, The Squirrel was the first to get voted off, meaning her efforts to get to the finale came to an end. After the panel made their final guesses, The Squirrel unmasked and revealed herself to be none other than actress (and one of Jeong's former co-stars) Malin Akerman!
Next, The Jackalope and The Fairy faced off in a Battle Royal, and both stars delivered skillful, and very similar, covers of "On Top of the World" by Imagine Dragons. This made the panel's decision very difficult, but they ultimately voted to crown The Fairy as the week's winner and send The Jackalope packing.
After the regal Big Bird anointed The Fairy as the champ, it was time for The Jackalope to unmask, and she revealed herself to be actress and internet star Lele Pons!
The Masked Singer Week 4 -- "DC Superheroes Night"
The Gargoyle was the first new contestant to take the stage, and he wowed with a beautiful and moving rendition of Charlie Puth's "One Call Away," which felt incredibly on-theme -- not just because it literally namechecks Superman, but just the general everyday heroism vibe of the tune as a whole.
The Wolf, with a much more gravelly tone, positioned himself as a darker anti-hero with his seasoned and experienced cover of The Doors' "Break on Through" which definitely embraced the grittier DC comics aesthetic.
Finally, The Squirrel was the last to hop on the stage and she delivered a fun and energetic cover of Pink's "Try" that embodied the heroic nature of the night's theme perfectly (although her costume closely evoked the Marvel comics' character Squirrel Girl, but that's obviously just a coincidence).
After all the votes were counted, The Wolf was the first to get voted off, and he revealed himself to be none other than music legend and best-selling artist Michael Bolton!
This left The Gargoyle and The Squirrel to face off in a Battle Royale round, where each was made to sing different parts of the same song.
Keeping to the theme, both contestants belted out lines from the 3 Doors Down song "Kryptonite," and while both impressed the panel, they ended up voting for The Squirrel to move on, and The Gargoyle to unmask.
However -- for the second week in a row -- the panel felt it wasn't time for The Gargoyle to go home just yet! Instead, they rang the "Ding Dong, Leave It On" bell -- which was previously introduced as a one-time-only thing, but apparently not. So, fans will still have to wait to see which silky-voiced singer is under the Gargoyle mask.
The Masked Singer Week 3 -- "New York Night"
Medusa made her third appearance this season -- after wowing with incredible range twice before -- and faced off against two new hopefuls as she fought for her place in the finals. Medusa was the first to hit the stage, and belted out an entirely original and unique cover of Frank Sinatra's "New York New York" that stunned the panel.
The Polar Bear hit the stage next, and brought a lot of personality to his take on Blondie's iconic retro hit "Rapture."
Finally, the California Roll delivered the final surprise for the night when it turns out that they are actually the California Rolls! Five performers together as one act, and together they delivered an exciting cover of Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi."
After all the votes were counted, The Polar Bear was the first to get voted off, and he revealed himself to be none other than hip-hop legend Grandmaster Flash!
When asked why he wanted to be on the show, Grandmaster Flash shared, "In the world today, there is a lot of sadness, and when I saw this show on a rough day... It actually had me laughing! And it allows you to let your guard down and just have fun. It's a great show."
After the first unmasking, The California Rolls and Medusa went head to head in a battle royale which saw each of them belting out different verses from Billy Joel's "Uptown Girl," and each gave very different takes on the same tune.
When the time came to vote, the panel chose The California Rolls to move on to the next round of the competition. However, while things looked bleak for Medusa, a last-minute change of heart saw the panel use their one-time-only "Ding Dong, Leave It On" bell!.
This meant Medusa didn't have to unmask but would get another chance to battle her way back into the competition.
The Masked Singer Week 2 -- "ABBA Night"
After stunning the judges last week, Medusa was the first to take the stage this time around, and she showed off a totally different side to her incredible voice, belting out ABBA's iconic "Dancing Queen."
Night Owl took the stage next, wowing with her feathery costume before blowing the judges away with a clearly skillful and likely professionally trained rendition of the ABBA hit "Fernando."
Rock Lobster was the last of the night's three contestants, and he was clearly there for comedic effect as he performed an entertainingly chaotic cover of ABBA's "SOS" that had the judges cracking up.
Unsurprisingly, Rock Lobster was the first to get voted off (as is so often the case with the comedic contestants) and he revealed himself to be none other than America's Got Talent judge Howie Mandel.
Mandel shared some love with Cannon -- who used to host AGT years ago -- and explained why he wanted to be on the show, sharing, "When you watch this show, this is fun, and I just wanted to have fun!"
After Mandel's unmasking, Night Owl and Medusa went head to head in a battle royale which saw each of them belting out different verses from ABBA's aptly named "The Winner Takes It All." For the second week in a row, Medusa emerged victorious, and Night Owl got sent to the chopping block.
After all the final guesses were made, Night Owl unmasked and revealed herself as pop icon Debbie Gibson! And, as it turns out, her involvement with the show was surprisingly unexpected even to Gibson herself.
"So not to bring the tone down, but to keep it real -- I lost my mom one year ago and it was the anniversary yesterday, and I was flying back from New York. I was boarding the plane and my manager texts, and she goes, 'Somebody might be sick and can't do the show. You'd have to be in LA tomorrow,'" Gibson shared. "So, got in late last night, and I'm so glad I got to be here with you guys today."
The Masked Singer Week 1 -- "Premiere Night"
The new season introduced fans to the first three performers that fans would get to meet this time around -- The Mustang, The Gnome and Medusa.
The Mustang was the first character to hit the stage, rocking an all-black, leather ensemble and a giant, red-eyed horse head. She chose to showcase her vulnerable voice with a cover of Whitesnake's "Here I Go Again" which earned a massive standing ovation from the audience.
The Gnome brought a smile to everyone with a lighthearted rendition of Billie Holiday's "When You're Smiling" which was a total delight from start to finish.
Medusa hit the stage rocking a next-level costume covered in snakes and absolutely dripping with mystery and intrigue. With a voice both delicate and heartbreaking, while simultaneously powerful and full-bore rock n' roll, Medusa performed a cover of Billie Eilish's "Happier Than Ever," which might be the most jaw-dropping performance in recent memory.
Sadly, it was The Gnome who was the first to go -- but his unmasking proved to be one of the most memorable in Masked Singer history. The Gnome revealed himself to be none other than screen legend and comedy icon Dick Van Dyke!
After the unmasking -- which caused Scherzinger to burst into tears of joy -- the Mary Poppins star bid farewell with a performance of "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" and showed off his dance moves to the amazement of everyone in the audience.
Next up, The Mustang and Medusa faced off in a Battle Royal round, where each had to sing a verse from Rihanna's "Diamonds." Both stars brought real skill and talent to the challenge, but Medusa managed to eke out a win.
This means Medusa moves on to face off against another group of contestants, while The Mustang had to unmask. As it turns out, The Mustang was, in fact, celebrated country singer Sara Evans!
The Masked Singer airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
Check out the gallery below for a look at every single contestant who has ever had to "take it off" throughout the history of the show!
