The Braxtons Tease Untold Stories in New Reality Series Trailer and Reveal Premiere Date

Check out the new trailer for the Braxton family's upcoming reality series, premiering Aug. 9.

The Braxton family is back! On Wednesday, WE tv revealed a new look at their new reality series, The Braxtons, giving further detail into the family's decision to return to reality TV three years after the end of Braxton Family Values and two years after the death of the family's beloved sister, Traci Braxton.

In the new trailer, ToniTrina, Towanda, Tamar and the family's matriarch, Dr. Evelyn "Miss E" Braxton, tease a bit of what fans can expect when the show premieres on Aug. 9, including some insight into the ways the sisters' individual families have changed over the years.

"We have a lot to talk about a lot, a lot to share," Toni says in the opening of the new look.

"We've dealt with a lot," Miss E adds as Towanda notes that the family has "a missing piece," adding that "it's never going to be the same without her."

Traci died on March 12, 2022 at age 50 following a battle with esophageal cancer. The late reality star gained a legion of fans as a member of the family's reality TV show, which became WE tv's most successful reality TV program when it premiered in 2011.

But the series won't neglect the more joyful moments of the family's lives. As Trina succinctly points out in the trailer, "With our family, there's always an opportunity for things to go left!"

The trailer provides brief glimpses of the upcoming stories the show will cover: Toni preparing for her Love & Laughter Las Vegas residency with Cedric the Entertainer and Towanda dedicating her time to being a hands-on mom with her children.

Meanwhile, Trina attempts to convince her children to give her grandchildren and Tamar alludes to sharing the parts of her "story" that "have to be told."

The new trailer also teases Toni's health concerns, with the singer saying she previously suffered "a major scare involving my heart."

"Every day I'm like, I just hope I don't get sick, hope I don't get sick," the mother of two admits, to which the video cuts to Miss E exclaiming that she "just lost a child."

An official synopsis of the new series promises that The Braxtons will offer viewers a "raw and unfiltered" look at the family’s highs and lows over eight hour-long episodes.

"Toni, Towanda, Trina, Tamar and Ms. E navigate careers, health challenges and busy personal lives while growing their family bond," the synopsis reads. "Toni faces a critical health challenge as she prepares for her Vegas comeback. Trina starts therapy for PTSD. Towanda battles alopecia. Tamar focuses on her wellness journey. And Ms. E's cooking show dream is becoming a reality. However, the family reuniting continues to bring up questions and unresolved issues. Will Traci's last wish be enough for the family to be close again, as they once were?"

When ET recently spoke with Toni on the red carpet at the Elton John AIDS Foundation's 32nd annual Oscars viewing party, she explained why the family felt it was "really important" to do a show together once more.

"You know, it's really important [because] we lost one of our sisters, she wanted us to do this show again, and we were hesitant at first," Toni shared. "But we said, 'We're gonna do it for Traci.'"

"What's really important about doing our show is [telling] real stories about family," she added. "And I think when people see our stories, maybe we can help them in having a loss in the family."

Toni shared that her family is healing and working through their loss through their new show.

"Everyone has had at loss in their families, and for us, it was our first and it's been difficult to deal with," Toni reflected. "But we've had so many people, so many fans, welcoming us, so that part helps us. I don't think people realize how much they're helping us."

The Braxtons premieres Friday, Aug. 9 at 9:30 p.m. ET on WE tv and ALLBLK.
