'The Bachelorette' star Jenn Tran shares a 'feral' kiss with Sam McKinney after awarding him the First Impression Rose.
Sam McKinney nabbed Jenn Tran's first-ever rose! On Monday's season 21 premiere of The Bachelorette, Jenn met her 25 suitors but was most enamored with the South Carolina-based general contractor, awarding him the First Impression Rose.
After declaring it "shot o'clock" during his limo entrance, Sam's night just got better and better. He had a good chat with Jenn that ended with a kiss on the cheek and secured him the evening's first rose.
"I couldn't stop thinking about you all night. I don't always pick the right men, but there's something in my gut that's telling me there's something here and I'm really excited about it," Jenn told Sam. "I'm really excited to get to know you a lot more."
With that, Jenn initiated her first kiss as the Bachelorette -- and the results were "feral."
"It just feels so right. So much tension builds up all night and it just feels nice to let it all out. I feel like I'm floating on cloud nine. I'm feeling so happy," she told the cameras. "The kiss is feral, I think. The kiss was really, really good. I feel like I made the right decision in waiting, because this was the kiss that's been building up all night. Definitely worth the wait."

He was cheated on
During his intro package, Sam revealed that he's been single for a year following a devastating experience. After getting engaged to a girl he'd known since middle school, she cheated on him.
"That was definitely the biggest heartbreak I've really ever experienced," he told the cameras, "but I wasn't going to let that situation right there be something that was going to stop me from chasing my dream, which is to be a husband, be a father."
In his bio for the show, Sam revealed that, in light of his experience, cheating is his no. 1 deal-breaker.
He had a scary motorcycle accident
In a digital video for the show, Sam revealed that he was in a motorcycle accident that could've killed him, but said he managed to walk away "without a scratch." Because of that, Sam said, "Any opportunity I get, I'm taking it head on."
The accident didn't put Sam, who was homeschooled growing up, off to riding motorcycles. In his bio for the show, Sam revealed that, when he isn't working, he loves "riding motorcycles, golfing, and watching Sons of Anarchy."
He loves dogs
Sam clearly loves animals, as he proudly shows off his Australian Shepherd pups on Instagram. Back in 2020, he even shared a birthday post for his dog, Breaker, as the pup turned one.
He's a family man
Sam's Instagram is full of photos of him with his family. He's often seen posing with his brothers, Seth and Charlie, and hanging out with his dad, Jeff. On top of that, he revealed in his show bio that he recently served as the officiant at his sister's wedding.
It's no surprise he's close to his family; in his show bio he revealed his "ultimate dream" is "to be a loving husband and father."
The Bachelorette airs Mondays on ABC.
