Years after facing various sexual misconduct allegations, Kevin Spacey addressed his life today in an interview with Piers Morgan.
Years after facing various sexual misconduct allegations that caused his Hollywood career to disintegrate, Kevin Spacey is "not quite sure" where he's going to live.
The two-time Oscar winner sat for an interview on Piers Morgan Uncensored, released on Tuesday, in which the 64-year-old actor got choked up as he shared his Baltimore home is currently in foreclosure and is being sold at auction.
"I'm not quite sure where I'm going to live now," he told Morgan, "but I've been in Baltimore since we started shooting House of Cards there."
The actor admitted to not being able to pay his bills, but noted that he's been able to "dodge" filing for bankruptcy. Still, when asked how much money he has, Spacey candidly responded, "None."
Part of his debt includes "a lot of legal bills" that he said he's been unable to pay, along with his home, which Spacey said is "millions."
In November 2017, amid sexual misconduct allegations against him, Netflix announced they would not be "involved with any further production of House of Cards that includes Kevin Spacey." The show ended with a final sixth season without him the following year. In 2022, he was ordered to pay nearly $31 million to the House of Cards production company after he was found to have breached his contract and was fired amid allegations of sexual harassment and misconduct.
He has acted in three films since 2022 and was honored with the Stella della Mole Award in January 2023 in Italy.
When Morgan asked Spacey what he's going to do in the midst of his financial troubles, the actor answered, "Get back on the horse."
While he has not been found guilty or liable in the multiple trials and lawsuits he's faced in recent years, Spacey did admit to "pushing the boundaries" in the past by "being too handsy, touching someone sexually in a way that I didn't know at the time they didn't want."
"I agree that the word 'grope' is a very odd word. I personally -- I have caressed people. I have been gentle with people. That is the way that I am. You're making a pass at someone, you don't want to be aggressive. You want to be gentle. You want to see if they're going to respond positively," he said. "I think the word itself is not a word that I associate with my experience."
In regard to being "handsy," he further said that a person should "let you know they don't want to do it so that you can understand it's non-consensual and stop."
Ultimately, Spacey said, "I will never behave in the ways that I did previously, ever."
