Taylor Swift went dancing in the storm in her best dress on Tuesday night during her Eras Tour show in Hamburg, Germany!
Teardrops Raindrops were on Taylor Swift's guitar during Night 1 of her Eras Tour shows in Hamburg, Germany.
The 34-year-old singer took the stage at Volksparkstadion in the pouring rain Tuesday evening, performing more than half of the show in the precipitation and carefully avoiding any missteps in the process.
Photos and videos from the event show a soaked Swift pushing through the concert while singing, dancing and partying with the crowd of some 50,000 fans in attendance. She will do one more show on Wednesday before moving on to Munich for her first concert on Saturday, July 27.
It's certainly not the first time that the "Midnight Rain" singer has encountered a bit of inclement weather in the 15-plus months since she launched the record-breaking world tour. During one of her rain-drenched shows in Foxborough, Massachusetts, last year, Swift's piano was damaged by the weather and began to play itself on stage.
Swift has very rarely canceled or postponed Eras Tour concerts due to weather, and Tuesday night's show was no exception. It also made for some exquisite pics of the singer with sopping-wet hair and drenched costumes.
Later on in the night, Swift proved that she is a mastermind as she picked up her guitar for the acoustic surprise song portion of the evening and played an apt song for the evening's forecast.
Swift opted to mash up "Teardrops on My Guitar" and "The Last Time" from Red. The first song comes from her self-named first album, Taylor Swift, which is one of the two albums she has yet to release a "Taylor's Version" for; Swift has also not released Reputation Taylor's Version, even as fans have spent months speculating the project is on the horizon.
In videos posted from the show in Germany, Swift can be seen strumming along on her guitar while wearing a floor-length orange dress before finally confirming the song choice by singing the first lyrics into the microphone.
"Teardrops On My Guitar x The Last Time ???? THE BIGGEST LOSS EVER omfg :,))) #HamburgTSTheErasTour," one fan wrote in a message on X (formerly Twitter).
Over on the piano, Swift once again gave fans a mashup, blending "We Were Happy" from Fearless with "Happiness" off Evermore. The crooner has become somewhat of a connoisseur of mashups in recent weeks during her Eras Tour stops in Europe and around the globe.
In June, she even debuted several themed mashups at her Liverpool, England and Cardiff, Wales shows. On June 17, she performed the "Murder Mashup" of "No Body, No Crime" and "Carolina" only to follow it days later with the fan-dubbed "Diss Track Mashup" on Scooter Braun’s birthday. For that performance, she combined "I Forgot That You Existed" and "This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things."
More recently, Swift seemingly devoted a mashup to her boyfriend of roughly a year, Travis Kelce, as she performed in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. At one show where her 34-year-old tight end beau was in attendance, the 14-time GRAMMY Award winner sang "Mary’s Song (Oh My My My)," "So High School" and "Everything Has Changed," which fans immediately connected to Kelce.
The pair are going strong more than a year after their love story started, with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end even making an appearance on stage during one of her shows in London last month.
At the time, a source told ET of Kelce's appearance, "Taylor and Travis have recently discussed Travis making an appearance onstage at the Eras tour, when timing was right, and they finally made it happen."
"Travis was so excited to support Taylor onstage, and Taylor couldn't be happier to feature him, especially during such a fun, pivotal scene in the show," the source said. "Travis only had one night of rehearsal, the evening before he performed onstage, and didn't miss a beat. Taylor was beaming from ear to ear as Travis took on the dapper role. The two are hoping he can make a cameo again in the future."
