Sydney Sweeney Says Angus Cloud's Death Won't 'Feel Real' Until 'Euphoria' Starts Filming Again

The actress' 'Euphoria' co-star died in July, at the age of 25.

Sydney Sweeney is opening up about Angus Cloud's death. In an interview with Glamour UK, the 26-year-old actress reveals why her Euphoria co-star's July death doesn't feel real -- and when she thinks the tragedy will finally sink in.

"[My costars and I] were constantly on the phone with each other crying, because it was just such a shock," Sweeney says of Clouds death by accidental overdose, at age 25. "I don't think it'll truly feel real or hit me until we’re filming and I won't see Angus on set."

As hard as that will be, Sweeney notes, "When we are filming, all of our eyes are on each other and we're there for each other, just in a different way than we're able to when we're all in very separate places in the world."

"It's really interesting when someone passes away in our industry," she added, "because they're still alive in so many forms."

Sweeney previously paid tribute to Cloud on Instagram, writing, "Angus you were an open soul, with the kindest heart, and you filled every room with laughter."

"This is the hardest thing I've ever had to post, and I'm struggling to find all the words," she added. "You will be missed more than you know, but I'm so blessed to have known you in this lifetime, and I'm sure everyone who has ever met you feels the same. This heartache is real and I wish we could've had one more hug and 711 run. All my love is with you."

Euphoria will commence production on season 3 in 2024, but the new episodes won't premiere on HBO until 2025.

Until then, Sweeney is busy promoting her new rom-com, Anyone But You, which she stars in and produced alongside her real-life beau, Jonathan Davino.

"Jonathan is my producing partner, so he helped put the whole thing together. It's really great to work with someone who knows you so well, who fully supports your ideas, your vision and your voice," she tells Glamour UK. "And it's nice. I mean, who doesn’t want to be with their best friend all the time?"

Sweeney previously discussed her working relationship with Davino in an interview with ET, saying, "I think it's incredible being able to work with people who you wanna be in business with. It's amazing having someone who cheers you on and someone who fully just supports what you do."

Anyone But You will hit theaters Dec. 22.
