Sydney Sweeney is bringing the magic to the 2024 Met Gala!
On Monday, the Anyone But You star made her grand arrival at New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art celebrating "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion" -- and stole the show by ditching her blonde hair and debuting a black bob with a touch of sparkle from Eva NYC's Kween Glitter Spray.
Sweeney, 26, stayed on theme in a blue floral ballgown, which she paired with black gloves and a diamond necklace.
This year's Met Gala theme -- "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion" -- is a nod to fashion history. The Metropolitan Museum of Art's exhibition theme -- curated and organized by The Costume Institute -- will feature 250 items from its permanent collection displayed in a new, innovative way. The dress code is "The Garden of Time," which is inspired by J.G. Ballard's 1962 short story of the same title.
Last year, Sweeney bedazzled for the benefit that celebrated "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty." The Immaculate star wore a form-fitting blush pink gown by Miu Miu that was adorned with gemstones in the shape of leafs and flowers. Paying homage to the late designer, Sweeney wore an oversized black bow in her blonde tresses, and another on the knee of her dress.
Sweeney made her Met Gala debut in 2022. Celebrating "In America: An Anthology of Fashion," the actress wore a white gown by Tory Burch. The look was a standout, as Sweeney's corset top melted into the tiered fabric that made up the oversized skirt, that cascaded into an inch-long train. In a moment's notice, before making it up the stairs and inside the event -- the actress removed the skirt and transformed her entire look.
