Soulja Boy has been sentenced to 240 days in prison for violating his weapons probation, according to documents obtained by ET.
The 28-year-old rapper appeared in court on Tuesday, where according to TMZ, the judge reportedly said he had been considering sentencing him to two years in state prison and was aware the musician had missed out on work opportunities while he’s been locked up.
According to multiple outlets, in February, authorities discovered ammunition at his Agoura Hills, California, home after going there to investigate a claim that he held a woman captive in his garage.
The “Kiss Me Thru the Phone” singer was taken into custody on Apr. 11. TMZ reports that at that time he was found to have failed to complete court-ordered community service, and that he attempted to falsify evidence that he had completed the hours.
Having been behind bars since, he received a credit of 40 days served, and must complete his community service.
The musician was arrested for carrying a loaded firearm in 2014, then caught violating his probation by carrying a firearm in 2016.
In 2017, he was sentenced to five years’ probation.
