Garrison Brown, the son of Janelle and Kody Brown, died of suicide last month.
Though Garrison Brown might be gone, his beloved cats have found new homes. The son of Sister Wives star Janelle Brown and her ex, Kody Brown, died of suicide last month, leaving behind three rescued cats, including one he adopted just days before his death.
In a new Instagram post on Sunday, Janelle revealed the fate of her son's beloved pets.
"Garrison's cats, Catthew and Patches are thriving at Logan and Michelle’s place and Ms Boots is living her best life with Aspyn and Mitch," the TLC star wrote, sharing photos of the animals in their new homes. "It was awesome that we could continue to take care of them like he would."
Logan Brown is the son of Janelle and Kody, while Aspyn Thompson is the daughter of Janelle's sister wife, Christine Brown, and Kody.
Garrison's final Instagram post before his death was sharing the addition of Ms. Buttons to his home.
"Newest edition to my home, Ms Buttons. She’s 9 years old and was on the line for euthanasia but my savior complex couldn’t suffice. #crazycatlady," he wrote six days before he died.
In the wake of Garrison's death, fans shared an outpouring of love through donations to local Flagstaff, Arizona, cat rescue centers, including High Country Humane, which received $13,000 in donations in Garrison's honor.
Janelle addressed the donations of fans last month, writing on Instagram, "I have been brought to tears again. I’m being told about everyone’s donations to @highcountryhumane @arkcatsanctuary in Garrison’s name. Thank you all for your generosity. It means so much. The cats he adopted from both agencies were so important to him. He loved being a cat dad."
Garrison was found dead last month after a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The estranged Brown family has since come together for a military funeral service in his honor.
Along with Garrison, Janelle and Kody -- who were spiritually married from 1993 to 2022 -- share Logan, 29, Madison, 28, Hunter, 27, Gabriel, 22, and Savannah, 19.
The Brown family has been estranged in recent years in the wake of Christine, Janelle and Meri Brown's splits from Kody. Kody's relationship with his only remaining wife, Robyn Brown, and his presumed favoritism toward her has also caused friction between the former polygamist and his older children.
This was thoroughly documented on Sister Wives, particularly his fractured relationship with his sons, Garrison and Gabriel.
ET spoke with Janelle and Christine in November 2023 about Kody's estrangement from some of his family members. Janelle said that Kody wanted to have a better relationship with his kids.
"I think that's probably the goal, right? He will eventually figure out how to have a relationship with his children. I mean, I hope it will over time," she told ET at the time.
