Janelle Brown shares that she previously had basal cell carcinoma and now gets regular checks.
Sister Wives star Janelle Brown has a message for her fans. The 54-year-old TLC star took to Instagram on Monday to share the results of a recent skin check.
In the car selfie, the mother of six has a cut on her lip as the result of having a pre-cancerous lump removed.
"Posting this picture as a reminder to get your skin checked. Even if you have ALWAYS been careful about sunscreen," Janelle shared. "I am and always have been. You have to when you are as fair as I am."
Kody Brown's ex noted that she'd previously had basal cell carcinoma removed after the COVID pandemic and now goes in for annual visits to check her entire body for any signs of skin cancer.
"Today I had 2 pre-cancerous spots frozen and a tiny lump removed from my lip," Janelle shared. "Yes it's a pain to schedule the appointment when you are busy. And yes there is a small amount of discomfort. But 2 pre-cancerous spots stopped in their tracks. Worth it #skincancerprevention #maketheappointment #theworldneedsyou #yourfamilyneedsyou."
Following her split from Kody in 2022, Janelle says she's been splitting her time between Flagstaff, Arizona, and North Carolina, where her and Kody's daughter, Maddie, lives. Despite her fellow sister wife, Christine Brown, moving on from her own split from Kody to marry David Woolley in October 2023, and Meri Brown continuing to date, Janelle previously told ET that she wasn't interested in moving on romantically.
"My children really are my thing. I'm really wrapped up with them. I'm focused on them. I'm trying now to bring some of the things I've always wanted to fruition," Janelle told ET. "So that's where my passion and my energy is laying right now with my children and some of these other projects I'm trying to bring forward. If I were to meet somebody, it would have to be super organic."
