The mother of three had a scary incident over the weekend when her toddler fell down.
Shawn Johnson East had a scary weekend at the hospital with her 2-year-old son, Jett.
The 32-year-old Olympic gymnast shared the details of the ordeal on her Instagram Stories, revealing that her little guy will have "a good little scar," on his eyebrow (per Us Weekly).
Tagging Children Hospital Vanderbilt, Shawn went on to detail the incident that led to the ER visit.
She said that she heard her 2-year-old crying "unusually" and went to investigate.
"When I opened the door I could just see the blood on his face. I was like, 'Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh.' I was like, 'Andrew! Andrew!' I picked Jett up and I was like, 'You’re OK buddy, you’re OK, you're OK.' But I knew immediately, I was like, 'We're going to the ER.'"
She shared that after watching footage of the incident, she realized that Jett had gotten out of bed when it was still dark, missing the bed when he returned and "hit himself in the face."
Shawn said that Jett "hit it just perfectly" underneath his eyebrow. Once they got to the hospital, Shawn said that the emergency room got Jett in "right away."
Calling her son a "trooper," Shawn shared that the toddler is on the mend after getting four individual stitches on the inside and then more on the outside.
"He has quite a few little stitches in there," she added. "We just kind of held him down. It sounds worse than it was. He was doing really well. He was saying he was getting stitched up like Woody."
Shawn and her husband, Andrew East, are also parents to daughter Drew Hazel East, 4, and son Barrett "Bear" Madison East, 4 months.
"It's the best. Being a parent, personally, makes me feel like I have fulfilled a purpose I never knew I had," Shawn told ET in 2020.
