John Corbett recently said that he 'picked the f**king wrong thing' to do with his life.

John Corbett is reflecting on his career. The actor, best known for his role of Aidan Shaw on Sex and the City, recently appeared on the Fly on the Wall podcast and revealed that he believes he picked the wrong career path.

"Look, I'm in the fourth quarter of the football game now, in life and in showbiz. It's just a fact," he said. "So I can reveal now I picked the f**king wrong thing to do with my life."

Corbett noted that much of his discontent comes from the fact that he's "not part of any creative process."

"I'm not collaborating with the writers," he said. "... Have you ever sat in a f**king waiting room of a doctor's office for like an hour and you're going, 'What the f**k?' For me, that’s what making a movie is like."

Corbett went on to acknowledge his privilege, stating, "For my work life, I've made a lot of money. I live in a beautiful home. People come to me at every f**king restaurant I go in. I'm a friend of the world."

However, he said, "as far as a fulfilling creative work life, I didn't write one f**king line. I didn't write one joke to make people laugh. So it's been unfulfilling on that level."

"There were some good times here and there, but mostly it's sitting waiting for them to knock on your door and go, 'Hey, we need you to come back and say that thing again,'" he said. "To me, man, it's such a boring f**king life."

In terms of how his feelings impact his career going forward, Corbett noted that he only takes on projects he's passionate about.

"I'm just at this point in my life now that I like being at home with Bo and the dogs," Corbett said of Bo Derek, his partner of more than two decades. "… At this point in my life, if something seems really, really f**king fun, I'll say yes, but then I get there and two days later I'm always saying, 'Why did I f**king say yes?'"

One thing he's often said yes to is Sex and the City and its Max follow-up series, And Just Like That. At the end of season 2 of AJLT, Corbett's Aidan said goodbye to his on-again, off-again love Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) as he headed to Virginia to care for his teen son for the next five years.

While that may have spelled the end for the couple, photos from the set of the show's third season reveal that Aidan's back in New York and spending time with Carrie.

Season 3 of And Just Like That will premiere next year on Max.
