Selma Blair Poses With Service Dog Scout on Tribeca Festival Red Carpet

Selma Blair was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2018 and has been in remission since 2021.

Selma Blair stepped out with a special guest in New York City!

On Wednesday, the Cruel Intentions star walked the red carpet at the Tribeca Festival for the premiere of the documentary, Diane Von Furstenberg: Woman In Charge.

For the occasion, the 51-year-old actress had a special date, her service dog, Scout -- who offers support amid her multiple sclerosis diagnosis. Blair -- who wore a chic one-shoulder black dress -- held Scout's leash as they made their way down the carpet. At one point, Scout laid on the ground while Blair posed with Von Furstenberg and a male friend. Scout even allowed Blair to have a solo moment on the carpet.

Blair -- who has been battling multiple sclerosis (MS) since 2018 -- tends to walk with a cane when on red carpets but she did not appear to have one at this event.

Since sharing the news of her MS diagnosis, Blair has kept her fans up to date on her prognosis and progress. In 2021, the Hellboy star revealed that her disease was in remission.

But this past January, Blair shared a heartbreaking update, revealing that while her MS is still in remission, she was feeling constant pain as a result of  Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. According to the Mayo Clinic, the syndrome is a group of inherited disorders that affect your connective tissues -- primarily, your skin, joints and blood vessel walls.

In a video posted to Instagram, Blair revealed that her body was stiff and tired, adding that it was hard for her to simply stretch to aide the issue as she was advised against it. Blair also said that she felt the need to constantly sleep.

"So, I get some injuries, but this is nothing that's like horrible, scary stuff or anything," she explained. "It's one of those extra things that turns into a chronic thing and you have to watch because people think stretching's so good for you. And I'm technically not allowed to stretch."

Still, despite the pain, Blair shared that she was "doing well."

"When people say, 'What do you want to do with your life?' It still makes me sad that I just want to sleep," she said. "There's no complaining. But I don't know if I'll ever have the coordination or balance or stamina that I want to. Still lucky. Still grateful. Still okay. But it's still a bummer."

Last year, Blair spoke with ET and gave an update on her health.

"My health is good. I've been in remission since I had a bone marrow transplant to stop the progression of the MS, that had been, for really many, many years, burning," she said at the time. "So it took awhile to recover. But I am feeling really, really much stronger now and building stamina."
