A source told ET that Bieber tried to make Gomez 'jealous' over his night out with Champion -- but it doesn't appear to be working.
Selena Gomez is back from Australia, but seeing her boyfriend didn't seem to be at the top of the list after he was photographed with Baskin Champion. The 25-year-old singer-actress returned home to Los Angeles on Friday, before heading out with friends for a fun night of roller skating.
Gomez was spotted at Moonlight Rollerway in Glendale, California, hanging out with pals like Amira Harvey. The former Disney star was all smiles as she was snapped skating around in a light pink T-shirt reading "Sinner" and jeans. She even posed for some fun selfies with fans.
While Gomez spent last week hanging out with friends in Australia, Bieber was spotted dancing with Champion at Craig David's concert in L.A.
According to ET's source, Bieber "knows everything he's doing is going to get out," and his night out with Champion was totally intentional. "[Gomez is] off having fun with her friends and so he’s showing that he can still go out and have fun too. And to be honest, I’m sure there’s a part of him that wants to make Selena a bit jealous!” the source said. "This seems like right out of the old Justin’s textbook! He was very manipulative with her emotions the last time and did stuff like this a lot."
And while Champion headed to Bieber's house after the concert, ET's source said their relationship is "nothing more" than flirting -- and that he and Gomez haven't officially decided to break up.
"The thing with Justin and Selena is that when they’re together, they’re together, when they’re apart, they’re apart. As in, they’re no longer attached at the hip," the source shared, adding that there's no bad blood between the pair -- Gomez has just pulled back because she wants to focus on her career, health, family and friends.
“She doesn’t have the time or energy to be all about Justin 100 percent of the time. But when they’re together, she’s fully present. She does care about him a lot, but she just can’t be all in right now,” the source said.
