So far, the inclusion of other former cast members including Jake T. Austin (Max Russo), Jennifer Stone (Harper Finkle), Maria Canals-Barrera (Theresa Russo), and David DeLuise (Jerry Russo) has yet to be announced.
Wizards of Waverly Place followed the three Russo kids, Alex, Justin and Max, as they learned how to handle the magic they inherited from their father's side of the family. The end goal was to become the kid that became the family wizard, all while helping their parents maintain their New York City sandwich shop.
Last year, Gomez joined DeLuise and Stone on their Wizards of Waverly Pod and got emotional as she opened up about her time on the series.
"I can't begin to tell you guys without making it such a little cry session, I felt like I was the happiest I'd been my whole life," she said during the episode. "I don't want that to be a sad thought because I'm really grateful and happy, but it was definitely the happiest times for me, and I recognize that because I obviously have this different attention on me that I didn't have then. It was a really pure time."
She continued, "I am so lucky and grateful that I get to be a part of all these other projects, but I tell people all the time I've never had that feeling that I had with the whole Wizards crew, not just you guys."
