Oprah Winfrey, Fantasia Barrino, Danielle Brooks and Taraji P. Henson reacted to this year's Critics Choice snack.
The ladies of The Color Purple had mixed reactions when it came to the snacks inside the 2024 Critics Choice Awards!
During the sit-down ceremony in celebration TV and film, Hollywood's brightest stars were served boxed charcuterie and pizza in a bag. While some stars, such as The Holdovers Paul Giamatti, enjoyed the munchies, some needed a little bit more sustenance.
The moment the women of The Color Purple -- including Danielle Brooks, Taraji P. Henson and Fantasia Barrino, and co-producer, Oprah Winfrey -- were served the snacks was captured in a hilarious video shared on the official Oprah Daily Instagram account.
"Who are you in this scenario: @tasiasword, @tarajiphenson, @daniebb3, or @oprah 🤣🤣🤣 #criticschoiceawards," the caption read.
In the clip, a staff member from inside of the auditorium comes to their table and begins to pass out pizza that's in a a white bag. Henson and Brooks grab the bags and wave the small pieces of pizza in front of the camera as they take bites and smile. As for Barrino, when the camera pans to her, she asks "Where are the lamb chops?," before letting out a playful giggle.
Winfrey -- who donned a purple gown by Dolce & Gabbana -- was not about to ruin her look. When the camera turns in her direction, she points at her mouth and says, "I ain't messing up my lips."
Over on her Instagram Story, Winfrey gave an official review of the bagged pizza. The media mogul shared a clip of the pizza being passed around with the caption, "Pizza in a bag! Not for me!"
At the ceremony, hosted by Chelsea Handler, the Baz Bazawule-directed film was nominated for Best Picture, Best Acting Ensemble and Best Costume Design, and Best Hair and Makeup. The film did not take home any wins.
Danielle Brooks also snagged a Best Supporting Actress nom. Ahead of the ceremony, Brooks spoke to ET and dished on the honor of being nominated for her performance in The Color Purple.
"Very special," she told ET's Diedre Behar of her nomination. "It feels like one of those moments you hope to continue to happen again and again in your career but you never know if they will. You can't have one foot in yesterday and another foot in tomorrow, you have to be in the moment."
