The incident went down during Wednesday's live taping of the NBC morning show.
Savannah Guthrie's morning isn't going exactly as planned.
During Wednesday's live taping of Today, the 46-year-old co-anchor accidentally cursed as she was reading over her notes in preparation for her next segment.
Not realizing she was live or that her mic was hot, she exclaimed, "Oh s**t," before saying she was "sorry" for swearing.
Once the show ended, Guthrie took to Twitter to poke fun at the mishap while also apologizing to Today show viewers.
"Check, check -- is this thing on? Yeah I guess it is," she wrote. "So sorry guys. Thanks for being kind and understanding. And guess it’s good thing I don’t wear a mic all day. #ohdarn."
Of course, Guthrie isn't the only one who's slipped up on live TV. During her first week of hosting NBC's Megyn Kelly Today, Megyn Kelly witnessed a gaffe when a cameraman cursed after he accidentally walked into the frame. The mishap occurred after Kelly's bumpy start with the program, which included an awkward interview with Jane Fonda and Debra Messing declaring that she regretted going on the show.
At the time, Guthrie showed her support for Kelly during her guest appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
"I think she's got the eyes of the world upon her, and I think everybody can relate to how nerve-racking that is," Guthrie said of Kelly. "We're thrilled to have her. She's doing a lot, she's doing a lot of different things. She has a lot of range. I think she's awesome."
