The actress gushes over her 'soulmate,' François-Henri Pinault, in honor of their 15th anniversary.
Salma Hayek is celebrating her "soulmate" on their 15th wedding anniversary.
The 57-year-old actress officially tied the knot with 61-year-old French businessman François-Henri Pinault in an intimate courthouse ceremony on Valentine's Day in 2009, but the couple celebrated their marriage with a lavish wedding in Venice, Italy, in April of the same year.
"There are no words to explain the blessing of finding your soulmate," she captioned an Instagram carousel on Thursday, featuring a collection of rare photos from the festive occasion. "For all of you who found it, never take it for granted For all of you who haven’t, never give up #tbt to one of the best days of my life."
Hayek highlights her stunning glam in one candid shot, followed by a black-and-white image of two wedding gowns hanging on a clothing rack. In a third shot, she and Pinault smile sweetly at each other while he places a ring on her finger during their wedding ceremony.
At the time they exchanged vows, Hayek and Pinault were already parents to their now 16-year-old daughter, Valentina.
Last year, Hayek admitted that she "didn't even know" she was getting married on the day of her courthouse nuptials, describing it as an "intervention" staged by her family.
"I had a phobia of the marriage thing," Hayek said in Glamour's February 2023 cover story.
"I didn't even know I was getting married that day. It was like an intervention," she continued. "They just took me to the court. My parents, my brother, they were all ganging up on me."
The delightfully unfiltered star elaborated that her courthouse wedding wasn't a choice made out of a desire for simplicity. "The reason why it was a courthouse wedding was because they dragged me there," she declared. "I was nervous. And then after, there was a lunch at his parents' house. My mother-in-law, who's the most tasteful person when it comes to entertaining, had already been doing the lunch. I had no choice."
Hayek later recounted the story on an episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, going on to say she had since married Pinault four times.
"Never been divorced," she told the audience, explaining that after she got over her initial fear, new wedding ideas kept inspiring her.
"After, I was like, 'OK, I kind of like it that I am married now. I want to party!'" she said. After the first party, though, Hayek said she and Pinault hosted a third celebration because she hadn't liked the cake at the second. For the fourth time, their family surprised the couple with a return to the site of the third ceremony so they could marry with all their loved ones surrounding them.
The beloved actress celebrated her 57th birthday in September, and commemorated the occasion with some stunning, head-turning beachside bikini snapshots.
Speaking with ET at the time, Hayek attributed her magical fountain of youth to "meditation."
"I really believe it is. People say it's exercising. I think it's meditation," she shared. "You have to find your way. For me, exercising is hard... It's really, really difficult to have the discipline to do it. But meditation is a walk in the park, because it's my own form of it."
"You sit in a moment with yourself, that's already meditation," she added. "But I do it every day."
