Ryan Reynolds Says Wife Blake Lively 'Will Divorce Me' If There's a 'Deadpool 4'

Ryan Reynolds jokingly shared the reason why his wife, Blake Lively, would call for a divorce if he made another 'Deadpool' film.

Ryan Reynolds is shutting down Deadpool 4 rumors and veering all the blame toward his wife, Blake Lively, and their four children.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday, the 47-year-old actor opened up about the making of his new film, Deadpool & Wolverine, and why it was the best working environment he's ever been in, thanks to co-star Hugh Jackman and director Shawn Levy.

"What was crazy about this one was, it was the best filming experience I've ever had [...]  basically Hugh and I -- what you see is what you get, genuinely,” Reynolds shared. "I mean, [he’s been] my closest friend for 17 years. Shawn Levy, this is our third movie together -- I have never felt a set closer and that cared for each other more than this film."

Reynolds added, “And the end product or the final version of this is better than anything I've ever done in my life, and I'm just thrilled. So that's why we're everywhere, we're talking about it because we love it. We love what we get to do."

So, reasonable assumption that if they love what they do, there might be a possibility for a Deadpool 4. Fallon, 49, pressed the Definitely, Maybe star on the chance that fans could see him revive Wade Wilson (aka Deadpool) once again, which is when Reynolds gave an emphatic answer.

"Oh God no, my wife and children will divorce me," the actor shared as Fallon retorted, "The kids will divorce you?"

He added, "Jimmy, I have no prenup with any of them. I will be capital "B" broke and, in turn, then doing Deadpool 4 'cause I'd need the money."

Reynolds and Lively, 36, have been married since September 2012 and share four children together. In fact, it was at the Deadpool & Wolverine premiere in New York City on Monday night that Reynolds revealed the name of their fourth child, who they welcomed in early 2023. The actor and actress share daughters James, 9, Inez, 7, Betty, 4, and 1-year-old Olin, whose sex is unknown.

As for why the Gossip Girl alum would call a potential Deadpool 4 grounds for separation, Reynolds did not elaborate. Given, however, that many big-budget Marvel projects are time-consuming to shoot and promote -- for example, Reynolds and Jackman, 55, have been traversing the globe over the past few weeks to spread the word about their antihero team-up flick -- we can't blame the mom of four if she shut it down.

Even if she did have qualms about his schedule, the actress surely is putting her acting chops on display as she has been his No. 1 supporter in recent weeks. She even showed up to Monday's premiere in color-coordinated Deadpool and Wolverine outfits with bestie Gigi Hadid

Online, she has shown her love and admiration for her hubby in a myriad of ways, including Instagram Story posts devoted to their respective upcoming films, Deadpool & Wolverine and It Ends With Us

Lively also took to IG over the weekend to shut down divorce rumors as one fan commented on her post, "You and Ryan need to post more of each other, there were rumors going around that you two got divorced and I didn't believe it because you two are literally the perfect couple."

"haha they wish 😂," Lively quipped back.

At the premiere, ET spoke with Reynolds, who shared what it means to him to have Lively's full-fledged support going into his third (and final?) Deadpool film.

"She's amazing. She is so smart, everything I do is in lockstep with her and now she just takes every step with me -- sometimes the scary steps, sometimes the ones that are, more often than not, aimed right at danger," Reynolds joked.

He added, "I am super grateful to her. She's just so smart and so funny and [she] like really, really helped in like every aspect of this movie."

Deadpool & Wolverine arrives in theaters on July 26.
