Ryan Reynolds is not taking his wife, Blake Lively, for granted when it comes to his new movie, 'Deadpool & Wolverine.'
Ryan Reynolds is feeling the love from the fans going into Deadpool & Wolverine -- that includes the support from his wife, Blake Lively.
Talking with ET's Rachel Smith from the New York City premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine on Monday, the 47-year-old actor -- who did his interview alongside his co-star, Hugh Jackman -- commented on the love he has received from his wife of 12 years as he prepares to debut the highly-anticipated Marvel project.
"She's amazing. She is so smart, everything I do is in lockstep with her and now she just takes every step with me -- sometimes the scary steps, sometimes the ones that are, more often than not, aimed right at danger," Reynolds joked of Lively, who he married in 2012. The pair share daughters James, 9, Inez, 7, and Betty, 4, as well as an unnamed fourth child who was born in 2023.
He added, "I am super grateful to her. She's just so smart and so funny and [she] like really, really helped in like every aspect of this movie."
Her influence is felt in the film, too. The third Deadpool movie apparently features tons of Y2K references and Easter eggs for pop culture lovers. Reynolds credits his millennial wife, 36, with really hammering some of the jokes and late 90s bits -- possibly even a major *NSYNC nod -- home.
"Oh yes, she knows how to do it," the IF actor shared with ET. And do it, she did.
Lively stepped out for Monday's premiere in a big way, color-coordinating with bestie Gigi Hadid to evoke the look of Deadpool and Wolverine's iconic suits. While Lively opted for a stunning red jumpsuit, accessorizing with Lorraine Schwartz and Ofira Jewels, Hadid sported a mustard-colored, bandana-style crop top and knee-length skirt.
It's a fitting look for the Gossip Girl actress who has spent the past month promoting her husband's new movie.
Earlier this week, she sweetly congratulated Reynolds on his movie's impending arrival in theaters by sharing a snap of her kissing him while in full costume and makeup as Wade Wilson (aka Deadpool). That look comes complete with fake scars and wounds covering his face.
"You can't say I was lying when I said, 'It's what's on the inside that matters,'" Lively captioned the pic of the two locking lips on her Instagram Story to *NSYNC's "(God Must Have Spent) A Little More Time on You."
She continued, "Til death (or wade wilson) do us part."
Before that, the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants alum sweetly nodded to her hubby's new movie last week when she shared a "family portrait" with her followers on her Instagram Story.
In the photo, snapped by It Ends With Us author Colleen Hoover, Lively appears on a movie poster for the upcoming romance film that is displayed inside a movie theater. The star's face is positioned to appear as if it's looking directly at the poster right next to it, which happens to be for Reynolds' movie.
We can only assume Reynolds will be returning the favor in the coming weeks as the release date of It Ends With Us nears.
As for how Reynolds and Jackman, 55, are feeling going into the release of their buddy teamup film, they say they are over the moon by the reception of the movie around the world. That's not an exaggeration -- before their NYC premiere, they made stops in Brazil, China, England and Japan to thousands of screaming fans.
"We're excited. We've been waiting for this moment for such a long time to do this movie together as these characters and I'm so proud of him. I can't wait for people to discover [the movie]," Jackman told ET.
"We keep whispering to each other, 'Take it in,' because this is a pretty wild moment,'" Reynolds added.
Six years after Reynolds last starred as Deadpool and seven after Jackman last played James "Logan" Howlett (aka Wolverine), the pair are finally suiting up for what appears to be one last (and epic) ride to save the multiverse from implosion.
Deadpool & Wolverine's official synopsis reads, "Wolverine is recovering from his injuries when he crosses paths with the loudmouth, Deadpool. They team up to defeat a common enemy."
The film also stars Succession alum Matthew McFadyen, The Crown star Emma Corrin and several returning actors from the previous two Deadpool films, including Rob Delaney, Karan Soni and Morena Baccarin.
