The 54-year-old actor couldn't have more love for his wife, Sheryl Berkoff. He just wishes she'd play less 'Family Feud' on her iPad.

Sometimes Rob Lowe just wants a little space.

During his Wednesday appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the Code Black star revealed that he gets the best sleep when he's not sharing the bed with his wife of 26 years, Sheryl Berkoff.

"I sleep better on the road because I’m not with my wife," he proudly confessed. "People, it’s the truth. I love her enough to speak the truth."

According to Lowe, it's just that he and Berkoff have different nightly routines, and hers includes staying up to play Family Feud on her iPad. "[She] wakes me up like, ‘Honey, honey! Quick, name five foods that are gross,'" he shared. "I’m like, I just want to go to bed."

The 54-year-old actor's sons, meanwhile, are staying up late for another reason. Matthew, 25, is taking his law school finals, while John Owen, 23, is about to graduate from Stanford.

"So, Matthew’s the lawyer in the family. I figured I can get someone cheap to do my legal work,” Lowe cracked. "Then John Owen was the youngest published author in stem cell research when he was an assistant at the Eli Broad stem cell lab. That’s what got him into Stanford. Now he’s graduating with straight As."

After graduation, John Owen is hoping to follow in his dad's Hollywood footsteps, which Lowe joked he didn't necessarily have a problem with. "Look, let’s face it: that’s great because I think we can all agree that what society needs is one less that’s going to cure cancer and one more actor,” he said.

Both of Lowe's sons appear on his A&E show, The Lowe Files. See what he told ET about working with his sons in the video below.
