'RHOSLC' Star Monica Garcia Says She Suffered a Miscarriage Weeks After Revealing Pregnancy

News of her pregnancy came after she exited the Bravo reality series after one season.

Former Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Monica Garcia has shared heartbreaking news with her followers. In an emotional Instagram post, Garcia revealed that she recently suffered a miscarriage just weeks after announcing her pregnancy.

In her post, Garcia expressed her commitment to sharing her life authentically with her audience. "One thing I promised myself when opening my life up to all of you was that I was going to do it completely unapologetically and authentically raw as possible," she wrote. "I would show you my life in all aspects because that is what I agreed to do."

With a heavy heart, Garcia continued, "Unfortunately, today I need to share a very heartbreaking aspect, 'There is no heartbeat.' I don’t have many words and I’m still processing all of this myself. As quickly as this happened, that’s how quickly things have changed."

The 39-year-old reality star announced her pregnancy earlier this month during an interview on The Viall Files podcast with host Nick Viall. She disclosed that she discovered the news unexpectedly while seeking medical attention for an unrelated issue. This would have marked Garcia's fifth child and her first with her new boyfriend, whose identity she chose to keep private.

Expressing gratitude for her medical team and support system, Garcia also extended love and empathy to others experiencing similar challenges. "I am so blessed to have all of you in my corner and I appreciate how beautiful you all have been to me about this baby," she wrote. "I love you and I’m so thankful for you."

Monica -- who shares children Bri, 18; Jaidyn, 13; West, 7; and Kendall, 6, with ex-husband Mike Fowler -- was the breakout star of RHOSLC season 4 but will not be returning for the upcoming season.

The bombshell revelation that led to Garcia's exit revolved around her connection to the Instagram troll account, Reality Von Tease. This account had targeted various RHOSLC cast members for years, causing a stir within the tightknit group.

Monica told Viall she met her mystery boyfriend while filming RHOSLC. "Heather [Gay] and I shot our snowmobiling scene. So, that is when I met him. I was like, ‘Give me your phone.' He handed me his phone and I put my name and number in there."

Monica posted a video to Instagram earlier this month showing herself taking multiple pregnancy tests. The reality star wrote, "Yes. I already have four girls. No. I was not planning on being 39 and going through the baby stage again, but unexpectedly here I am."

As the first Latina to join the RHOSLC cast, Garcia had become a fan favorite on the show. News of her departure broke just hours before the airing of the third and final part of the series' reunion, leaving fans in suspense about the details of the decision.

In January, ET confirmed that Garcia decided to leave the show after being at the center of many of season 4's controversies and biggest dramatic storylines.

"Monica is not currently scheduled to return to RHOSLC," a source close to the situation said. "It's too early to confirm her permanent departure, and there's a possibility of her making a return in the future. The extent of her future involvement remains uncertain at this point."
