Part two of ‘The Real Housewives of New York City’ reunion tackles more of the Tom D'Agostino drama.
Andy Cohen wants to know, why did, in her eyes, Luann de Lesseps and Tom D’Agostino make a great couple?
The topic comes up on part two of The Real Housewives of New York City reunion, which was filmed three weeks before Tom and Luann decided to divorce. So, at the time, Luann was all about defending her controversial man.
“He’s not a TV person,” she says in a new sneak peek. “So he might come off a little nervous, ‘cause he’s probably nervous, as most people would be in that situation, especially with what happened, et cetera.”
Of course, Luann is referencing Tom’s alleged infidelities and lies.
“Tom is actually a great guy who loves me,” she adds. “Together, we just love being together and married.”
She then goes on to list, with the help of Sonja Morgan, activities she and Tom like to do together, like play tennis and ski. That’s when Bethenny Frankel interrupts them and says, “That’s all lifestyle stuff.”
“I always say you can make a lifestyle out of a life, but you can’t make a life out of a lifestyle,” she adds.
Dorinda Medley jumps in to defend Tom and Luann’s now-failed marriage, but makes a big mistake in Bethenny’s eyes: she brings up more “lifestyle stuff” as a defense, Tom and Lu’s penthouse apartment.
“It’s a one-bedroom apartment on the top floor,” Bethenny says. “We make it ‘the Trump, sprawling penthouse.’ It’s like, get over this!”
Luann asks Bethenny what’s wrong with calling a top floor apartment a penthouse, and she claps back real quick.
“It’s pretentious as f**k,” she spouts. “The average person thinks that a penthouse is, like, a sprawling, top, massive floor.”
“Right, like five bedrooms,” Carole Radziwill chimes in, in agreement.
Andy then course corrects the conversation and brings up how everyone is “so happy” for Luann and Tom, with Bethenny saying it’s nice to see they “made it.” Awkward.
