A baby boy is on the way for the reality star!
Real Housewives of Orange County star Meghan King Edmonds and husband, Jim Edmonds, are expecting their second child together.
The 33-year-old reality star announced the joyous news by sharing a blog post, alongside cute pics of their 1-year-old daughter Aspen sporting a “Big Sister” outfit, on her website.
“When Aspen was only a few months old Jimmy and I knew we wanted to add another baby to the mix,” shared Edmonds, who is 10 weeks pregnant and addresses the news on Monday’s episode of RHOC. “Yes, Aspen has half-siblings but we wanted her to be able to share in the joy of waking up to a sibling every day of her life. Plus her half-siblings are completely enamored by Aspen and they LOVED the idea of expanding our family even more.”
Having conceived Aspen via IVF and shared the journey onscreen, Edmonds revealed that the couple started the process again from scratch, because they only had female embryos left and wanted to have a boy.
Noting how she suffered “the worst depression of my life” while undergoing IVF the first time around, Edmonds credited her support system -- including Aspen and pet pooch Girly Girl -- for helping her through this time. The couple also chose to start the process after baseball season, so they wouldn’t have to juggle treatments around Jimmy’s career.
“I felt like I handled this IVF much more in stride,” she wrote. “I’m not sure if it’s because I knew what to expect or if maybe my body was used to the hormones, but it was easier. I was also armed with the emotional mindset to be so much healthier this time around whereas last time I was surrounded by the stress of filming RHOC (which is VERY stressful and emotionally taxing). I ate super healthy, cut out most alcohol (next to impossible to do while filming), attended regular acupuncture sessions, and took daily walks. I also prayed, meditated, and read a lot. I didn’t even watch emotional or negative TV shows. I just felt at ease.”
Edmonds recently talked to ET about the joys of becoming a parent.
“I'm so obsessed with motherhood,” she said. “It's all consuming. It's all you do. That's all you care about. Everything else is just peripheral.”
She even confessed she hopes to have four or five kids!
“It's like, Oh, OK, now I have this cool baby I'm obsessed with. I'll do it again. I'll do it 10 more times. If that's what I have to do to get this, it's worth it.”
