Rebel Wilson Reveals She Lost Her Virginity at 35

The 'Pitch Perfect' star opens up being a "late bloomer" in her new memoir, 'Rebel Rising.'

Rebel Wilson isn't ashamed to call herself a late bloomer.

In a new interview with People, the Pitch Perfect star reveals that she lost her virginity at the age of 35. Wilson plans to open up about the topic more in her upcoming memoir, Rebel Rising, but shares that she hopes that her story will send a "positive message" to other people.

The 44-year-old actress says that she wants others to know that you don't have to lose your virginity as a teenager.

"People can wait till they're ready or wait till they're a bit more mature," she tells the outlet. "And I think that could be a positive message. You obviously don't have to wait until you're in your thirties like me, but you shouldn't feel pressure as a young person."

Wilson admits that as a teen and a young adult -- who had not lost their virginity -- she would leave the room when the topic came up or simply deflect the conversation.

Today, Wilson -- who is in a same-sex relationship with fiancée Ramona Agruma -- says that "if I had been born 20 years later, I probably would've explored my sexuality more. I just knew I was attracted to men, and that was the normal thing."

"And so when I started opening myself up probably more after my father's death and realizing, oh, even though I'd seen marriage as a terrible thing and waste of time, I started opening myself up to that. And then only years later, meeting women and having feelings for a woman, and that, I just think it's a sign of where society kind of was," she adds.

Last year, Wilson announced that she would be publishing her first memoir. The Senior Year star took to her Instagram Story to break down the emotions she experienced ahead of telling her story to the world

"You guys, I mean, I can't wait for you to read this," she said as she signed copies of the book. "You're going to see a whole new side of me. Lots of funny stuff, and serious stuff ... And hopefully you guys will love the book as much as I've loved writing it -- although sometimes [it's] been gut-wrenching and emotional."

In addition to the topic of sex, Wilson also uses her new book to call out actor Sacha Baron Cohen, whom she dubbed an "a**hole" on set of the 2016 movie The Brothers Grimsby, prior to the memoir's release. After the actress publicly named him as the co-star she would be referring to in the book, the Borat star disputed her claims

Rebel Rising is out April 2.
