The country superstar rocks the Colonel's signature look in her first promo images.
Reba McEntire has a new gig!
The country superstar is the first woman to play Kentucky Fried Chicken's Colonel Sanders, the restaurant announced on Friday. McEntire will start appearing in ads as the Colonel promoting KFC's new Smoky Mountain BBQ fried chicken beginning on Sunday. Past celebrity Colonels include Ray Liotta, Billy Zane, Rob Lowe, George Hamilton and Rob Riggle.
"I grew up with Kentucky Fried Chicken. It’s part of my story, and I’m so excited to now be part of theirs,” McEntire said in a statement obtained by ET. “I’ve held a lot of roles in my life -- sort of like the Colonel himself -- but this is certainly the most unique one yet."
The singer teased the announcement with an Instagram pic on Thursday, posting a captionless shot of herself staring into the mirror, with a photo of Colonel Sanders in front of her, as KFC posted the first video promo on Twitter.
