Quincy Jones is honoring his late ex-wife, Peggy Lipton, who died on Saturday, May 11, after battling cancer.

The 86-year-old music producer posted a throwback photo of himself planting a kiss on Lipton's cheek. Alongside, he wrote a passionate tribute to the Twin Peaks actress, with whom he shares two daughters, Parks and Recreation actress Rashida Jones and Kidada Jones.

"There is absolutely no combination of words that can express the sadness I feel after losing my beloved Peggy Lipton….My wife of 14 years," he captioned the post. "We shared many, many beautiful memories, & most importantly, we share two incredible daughters… Pie (Kidada) & Doonkie (Rashida)."

"Regardless of the paths that our lives took us on, I can say with the utmost certainty, that love is eternal," he added. "Thank you all for the love & support you've shown me & my family."

Jones said in lieu of gifts, the family requests that fans and friends make a donation to Seasons Hospice, the company that cared for Lipton -- who was diagnosed with cancer in 2004 -- in her final days.

Jones and Lipton married in 1974, only to separate in 1986 and divorce a few years later in 1990.

Following their mother's death, Rashida and Kidada, shared a statement with ET on their tragic loss.

"We are heartbroken that our beloved mother passed away from cancer today," Lipton’s daughters said.  "She made her journey peacefully with her daughters and nieces by her side. We feel so lucky for every moment we spent with her."

"We can't put all of our feelings into words right now but we will say: Peggy was, and will always be our beacon of light, both in this world and beyond," they added. "She will always be a part of us. We ask that you respect our family's privacy."
