His ex-fiancee, Hannah Ann Sluss, also revealed that Barb reached out to her following their breakup.
Bachelor Peter Weber's relationship with his mom, Barbara, was rocky in the weeks before her outburst on Tuesday's Bachelor finale, a source tells ET.
According to the source, Peter and Barb did not speak after the finale -- where she expressed her extreme disapproval of his relationship with Madison Prewett -- and it seems very unlikely that he went home after the show. The source says that Peter's relationship with his mom has been strained, and in recent weeks Barb had been lashing out at the people around her.
Peter was living at home with his parents, Barb and Peter Sr., prior to his stint on the reality series. Recently, Peter has been staying at a hotel.
During her tense exchange with Madison and Peter on After the Final Rose, Barb said their relationship was "not going to work." She thought their differing values (on sex, religion and more -- which were discussed on The Bachelor) made them incompatible and refused to support them. Peter, to no avail, begged his mom to give his new romance a chance.
Barb -- who also unfollowed Julie LaPlaca, the Bachelor producer who had spent time with the Webers -- doubled down on Thursday morning, sharing that she "absolutely" would not try to make amends with Madison. By Thursday night, Peter revealed that he and Madison had split.
"Madi and I have mutually decided to not pursue our relationship any further. Believe me this was not easy for either of us to be ok with, but after a lot of honest conversations, we have agreed that this is what makes most sense for the two of us," Peter wrote, in part. "The love and respect I have for Madi will continue to endure."
On Friday morning, Peter said in a paparazzi video obtained by ET that his mom did not influence his decision to break up with Madison. "This is stuff between Madi and I, solely, 100 percent," he explained. "And people will have their opinions but this is just between the two of us, and it's just a mutual respect and love. That's all."
