Peacock is raising subscription prices ahead of the 2024 Summer Olympics, but right now you can still join at a lower cost.
The countdown to the 2024 Olympics in Paris is on, and we are only a couple of weeks away from the epic sporting event. Because Peacock is NBC's streaming service, it will be the best way to watch the games this summer.
On July 18 — about a week ahead of the Olympic games — Peacock is increasing the price of its subscription service by $2 per month for new customers. Existing customers will notice this increase the next month, beginning on August 17. By signing up now and locking in an annual membership, customers can save $24 on the streaming platform for the year.
Peacock Premium usually costs $5.99 monthly or $59.99 annually, but on July 18 it will rise to $7.99 per month or $79.99 annually. It is Peacock's ad-supported plan. The ad-free plan, Peacock Premium Plus, will be raised from $13.99 monthly or $119.99 annually to $15.99 monthly or $139.99 annually. Both plans grant access to a massive library of iconic shows and blockbuster movies, plus original series and live sports. You can also watch NBC hit series the day after they air on broadcast TV.
Those wanting to get a better deal on streaming the Paris Olympics will want to lock in the lower annual price and future-proof their streaming bill before Peacock's upcoming price hike.
How to get Peacock at a lower cost
To sign up for Peacock while prices are still lower, just head to the streamer's website and select the annual option. After creating an account using your email and personal details, you'll check out. After 12 months, the service will automatically renew at the new, higher price, which will (at that time) be $79.99 per year or $139.99 per year depending on the tier you select. You can cancel any time before your year is up to avoid the price hike.
