The 'Traffik' actress tells ET that her and Thicke's 8-year-old son, Julian, 'absolutely adores' his newborn half-sister, Mia.
Robin Thicke and his girlfriend, April Love Geary, welcomed their daughter, Mia, in February, and the "Blurred Lines" singer's 8-year-old son Julian -- from his previous marriage to Paula Patton -- is already loving his role as a big brother.
Recently, Patton sat down to chat with ET about her upcoming movie, Traffik, and she opened up about her son's bond with his half-sister, and the importance of family.
"He loves being a brother. It's a great thing," Patton said. "I think that family, no matter what -- divided, [or if] it's in new places -- you have to find harmony and peace for your children."
"He is in that place right now and it's a beautiful thing to see," she added. "He absolutely adores his little sister Mia."
Back in late March, Thicke, 41, took to Instagram to share a heartwarming photo of his little boy smiling at his newborn baby girl. The singer captioned the sweet snapshot simply, "Lucky Daddy!"
Patton and Thicke welcomed Julian in April 2010. The couple later called it quits in April 2014, after nearly nine years of marriage and over 21 years of dating. Their divorce was finalized in March of 2015.
Thicke and Geary went public with their relationship in mid-2015, and announced that they were expecting their first child together in August 2017.
Despite their divorce, Patton and Thicke have remained dedicated to their young son, and the 42-year-old actress told ET that Julian is following in his father's musical footsteps.
"He loves to sing," she shared. "He's taking after his daddy."
However, the proud mom revealed that his love of singing has unexpectedly lead Julian to an interest in basketball.
"Once he saw High School Musical, and he saw Zac Efron be on the basketball court but sing at the same time, he like got a new feel for it," she explained. "So we'll see what happens."
