Patrick and Jill Dempsey Celebrate 25th Wedding Anniversary: 'Life Would Not Be the Same Without You'

Patrick and Jill Dempsey paid tribute to their longtime marriage on Wednesday.

Patrick and Jill Dempsey are still very much in the honeymoon stage nearly three decades after tying the knot.

The longtime couple took to Instagram on Wednesday to pay tribute to each other to celebrate 25 years of marriage. The Grey's Anatomy star and his wife, both 58, each posted a throwback photo from their wedding day, which shows Patrick decked out in a tuxedo holding his bride's hand.

All these years later, Patrick is in awe at just how quickly time flies when you're having a blast.

"25 years, it feels like just yesterday! I can't get over how quickly time has gone by," Dempsey wrote in his caption. "Life would not be the same without you, your vision, your kindness, your compassion, your love, your sexiness, your intelligence, your warmth, your friendship, your wisdom. The love of my life, I'm truly grateful for all that you do and who you are. You're an incredible mother, wife, friend and partner."

Not to be outdone, Jill, a beauty line entrepreneur and professional makeup artist, honored Patrick with a sweet message of her own.

"Happy 25th baby @patrickdempsey! Vintage moments to cherish," she captioned her post. "I love you beyond words & our wonderful children. *I’m also thrilled we’ve made it to an actual big number on a Hallmark card! 😄💍🤍."

The Bridget Jones's Baby star and Jill share three children -- Talula, 22, and twin sons, Darby and Sullivan, 17. The couple first met in 1994 and they tied the knot in 1999. But like any marriage, Patrick and Jill's experienced its ups and downs, and things reached a boiling point when Jill filed for divorce in January 2015.

Patrick, however, later said he wasn't ready to give up on his marriage, and they officially reconciled in November 2016. They've put in the work, and it's showed ever since.

"You've got to keep at it," Patrick told ET in 2016. "You've got to communicate, and stay open and not get lazy. And not give up. And lots of sex!"

In 2018, Patrick shared with ET what he's learned about being married for, at the time, nearly two decades.

"Getting quality time together in a relationship -- especially with three children, everyone is running around trying to get them to sporting events or school activities, getting them prepped for college or all that -- couples have to figure to get date nights," he noted. "That is what it is about."

"We are growing together as a couple, individually, and as a family," he added. "The older you get, the more you realize how little time you have, and [how] you want to make the most of it."
