The star welcomed her first child via surrogate on Jan. 16, 2023.
Paris Hilton is rounding out her first year as a new mom! The star celebrated son Phoenix's first birthday on Tuesday with a touching tribute to her firstborn.
"One year ago, a beautiful angel baby entered our lives, bringing so much love and happiness🥹🩵👶🏼✨" she wrote on Instagram. "My precious little one, you are more than a dream come true. You make my life complete🥰 Every day with you is a priceless gift, and I’m endlessly grateful to be your mommy. 🌟🥰 Celebrating your first of many birthdays, Baby P – here's to a lifetime of laughter, love, and wonderful adventures with our cutesie crew! 🎉✨ Happy 1st Birthday! 🎂🥳"
The post includes a carousel of sweet photos of baby Phoenix, as well as a heart-tugging video in which the little one coos and stares lovingly at his mama.
Hilton, 42, shares Phoenix with her husband, Carter Reum, also 42.
The couple welcomed their first child via surrogate. Then, less than one year later, Hilton revealed that they had secretly welcomed a second child, daughter London, also via surrogate. The siblings were born about 10 months apart.
In a November interview on Today, Hilton opened up about how Phoenix was adjusting to becoming a big brother.
"He's just so gentle and sweet, and he'll put his hand out, just kinda like rub her arm or her face," she said. "It's just so cute."
Hilton also gushed over the joy she feels since becoming a mother.
"I'm loving my mom era and I feel just so at peace, just so happy, just so grateful for my husband and this beautiful family and life that we're building together," she said. "I just couldn't imagine anything else. I'm just over the moon with everything."
Hilton had been vocal about her desire to start a family with her husband for quite some time. During an April 2022 appearance on The Bellas podcast, she shared, "We've been talking about kids since the beginning -- since the first couple months of dating. We would love to have twins, that would be amazing. We want like three or four."
She continued, "I would like a twin boy and girl, just to get both. But whatever happens, happens. I would love that or twin girls because I love girls."
Hilton had also been transparent about her path to motherhood, discussing her experiences with egg freezing and surrogacy. Last year, she opened up about going through the in vitro fertilization (IVF) process in a statement on her Instagram Story.
"IVF is always a journey for everything but we're so fortunate that we have lots of healthy embryos ready and waiting to be part of our Cutesy Crew!" Paris explained in November 2022. "As everyone knows I have an extremely busy work and travel schedule but nothing gets me more excited than becoming a mom in 2023!"
In an interview with Romper last month, Hilton revealed why she and Reum enlisted a surrogate to bring their children into the world.
"I just have so much PTSD from what I went through as a teenager," Hilton said, alluding to the abuse she says she suffered as a teen at a therapeutic boarding school in the 1990s. "If I'm in a doctor's office, I get a shot, anything, I will literally have a panic attack and I can't breathe. I just knew that would not be healthy for me or the baby, growing inside of someone who has such high anxiety."
Also, Hilton said, "My schedule is out of control. There never would've been the right time to do it because there's literally no time to do anything in my life."
Since welcoming her children, Hilton has made it a priority to be home with them.
"I've lived this really full and exciting life, but nothing has made me so happy as seeing my baby boy laugh or smile for the first time," she said.
"I don't go out for fun. If I never had to go into another club again, I'd be happy. We just stay in. I like to cook. I like to be at home with the babies, the puppies," she continued. "... I used to look at my friends who'd be like, 'Oh, I have to go home to my kids and my husband,' like, 'You're so lame. This is so fun. I can't imagine being like that.' Now I'm one of those boring people, and I couldn't be happier. I couldn't imagine it any other way."
