Pantone has announced its Color of the Year for 2020!
The global authority on color revealed on Thursday the timeless shade of Classic Blue will be the biggest color trend for next year across industries from fashion to industrial design. Pantone explained on Instagram the emotional effect the calming color has.
"Suggestive of the sky at dusk, the reassuring qualities of Classic Blue offer the promise of protection; highlighting our desire for a dependable and stable foundation from which to build."
Pantone also pointed out Classic Blue marks the start of a new decade.
"As we cross the threshold into a new era, Pantone has translated the hue into a multi-sensory experience to reach a greater diversity of people and provide an opportunity for everyone to engage with the color."
Classic Blue is quite a departure from 2019's Color of the Year, Living Coral, which was much brighter and bolder.
