Olivia Culpo Calls Out Critic of Her Wedding Makeup

Olivia Culpo spoke out against a critique of her makeup at her wedding to Christian McCaffrey.

Olivia Culpo is defending her beauty choices at her wedding. The former Miss Universe tied the knot with Christian McCaffrey earlier this month, and the nuptials have been the talk of social media ever since.

One person who's weighed in on the wedding is TikTok user Jessica Weslie Arena. In one video, Arena spoke out against a line in Vogue's coverage of the wedding, which read, "Culpo tells Vogue she wore little makeup, forgoing mascara and eyebrow gel in favor of a pared-back look."

The TikToker begged the outlet to "be astronomically for real" in their coverage given that Culpo has previously undergone a lash lift to improve the length of her eyelashes.

"Olivia Culpo has a lash lift. Like, please zoom in. The lashes are lifting, so obviously she's not going to be wearing any mascara!" Arena said, adding that Vogue's comment about Culpo's "little makeup" gave her "such weird vibes."

In another video, Arena called the statement "deceiving," claiming that it was meant to imply Culpo's look was thanks to "natural beauty," which "sends a bad message to young girls."

The model, who previously denied have eyebrow lamination or lash extensions, responded to the first video in a comment, writing, "It was an interview….. they asked me what my makeup was……………………….."

Culpo's wedding dress has also been the subject of debate. Social media influencer Kennedy Bingham posted a video criticizing the Dolce & Gabbana gown, saying it had an "absence of personality" and was high-necked and long-sleeved as part of "a conservative campaign."

McCaffrey defended his wife in the comments, writing, "What an evil thing to post online. I hope you can find joy and peace in the world, the way my beautiful wife does."

Culpo chimed in too, commenting, "Wow what an absolutely evil person you are. I hope no one ever tears you apart in this way because it's extremely hurtful. I love this dress and it was everything I ever wanted and more."

In a TikTok video about the couple's use of the word "evil" against Bingham, Arena slammed the duo, noting that it's "warranted" for people to have opinions given the fact that the newlyweds publicized their big day.

As for why Culpo opted for the modest gown, she told Vogue of marriage, "It's a covenant. It's the beginning of the rest of your life—and it's the union and bond of two people forever. I wanted something that felt as serious as that commitment."

Her groom was also of the same mindset.

"When I think about Christian and what he loves and the moments that he thinks that I'm most beautiful," Culpo told the outlet, "it's absolutely in something like this: timeless, covered, and elegant."
